A thick Romulan metal whose name translates to "knife metal". It deflects tetryons, which makes it a strong contender for use in lining starship hulls to protect ship's systems from tetryon radiation in the Shoals. Research is currently being conducted by Dr. Timothy Alentonis and Lieutenant Commander Lael Rosek on possible avenues. Other contributors have included Lieutenant Commander German Galven, Commander Geoffrey Teller, and Lieutenant Lorian Lovar.

Known Properties

  • Rare Romulan type element (Think Rare Earth element, but Romulan).
    • Only known records of it were aboard the Romulan treasure fleet where it said it was only on the northern hemisphere of Romulus.
      • A small supply of it was discovered on Pellica (in the Shoals). Dozens of trials have resulted in the production of a Reskari alloy, which can be melted and used as a fast-drying "paint".
  • Characteristics: Resistant to Tetryon radiation, due to the natural thickness. The metal itself is also used as a phosphorescent
  • Freezing Point: -200 Kelvin / -819.67 Fahrenheit
  • Melting point: 644 Kelvin / 699.53 Fahrenheit

Notes

  • Strange metal box (discovered aboard the Romulan Treasure Fleet) was 7 inches thick to a side and showed evidence of protecting the contents from tetryon radiation.
  • Dr. German Galven managed to arrange a stasis field to keep it in liquid form by flash-freezing via a stasis field at -200 Kelvin
  • 2 shuttles have been successfully lined with the liquid Reskari alloy, but unfortunately one was destroyed. The Mackinac, on the USS Montreal, was sacrificed to stop a pirate while the other, the Alliance (currently aboard the USS Astraeus), has been proven to protect those within from tetryon radiation.
