The newly commissioned USS Challenger-A was launched in 2386. Since then the crew has distinguished themselves by winning a number of awards.

• The PIRANTARES RIBBON: Lt. Cmdr. Jerry Reid, (Awarded to the best medical officer in the fleet)
• The CAPTAIN SISKO TACTICAL CROSS: Lt. Cmdr. Turc Brakur, (Awarded to the best tactical officer in the fleet)
• Lt. Cmdr. Tal Tel ar has won the B Plot Award, the Sarpeidon Award and the Barkley Bead.

• Lt. jg. Tallis Rhul has won the Silver Palm and the TOSMA II.

• Lt. Cmdr. Jerry Reid won The Kalendra Award.
