Considering the pivotal location, StarBase 118's history is considerably short, due mostly to it's placement on the frontier of Federation space.

Important dates

• 2280 - Starfleet acknowledges the need for a maned presence at the critical juncture between the Federation, Klingon Empire, and Romulan Star Empire. Planning and tactical requirements are outlined for a new Trojan-class station.
• 2301 - Construction begins.
• 2321 - Founded.
• New base: 2346 (destroyed in 2375 by Kalendra)
