Miri Planetary Council
History of the Council
When the old government of Miri IV made the decission to open up their world to settlement by off worlders they made changes to the way their government was organized. These changes resulted in the creation of a planetary government. This would take the form of a council with representatives from each major community and colony except for the City of Cru'ela which would automatically have 3 councilors.
By 238603 the Planetary council had grown to 16 members with 3 from the city of Cru'ela, 1 from each of the 6 native Mirian communites that had been settled and created prior to the opening of their world to off world settlement, and finally 1 representative from each of the 7 new colonies settled by various races.
On 238604.01 the entire system of government was changed. This change was due to the old councils agreement that under their current organization their request to join the Federation would probally never be accepted. They needed a more organized government that would promote growth and development for the entire population of their world.
As a result of the debates that took place dureing a special meeting of the Planetary Council which were observed by the Federations offical representative Captain Taboo of the USS Eagle. These changes were finally agreed upon and quickly put into effect.
The major changes to the government would result in the new council haveing 1 representative elected for every 25,000 citizens. They would have a President elected by the entire planets population to oversee the government and a group of Ministries that would be run by a Minister and Deputy Minister selected by the council.
Council Breakdown
Under the new government created on 238604.01 the new council's make up was as follows. The Deltans, Andorians, Caitians and Cart'henians have 1 Councilor each. The Denobulans, Bolians and Tellerites each have 2 Councilors. The native born humans have 12 councilors while the new colony of humans in Europa also have 2 councilors. This resulted in a total of 24 Councilors on the Council.
Native Mirian Councilors
The first senior councilor is Mordon Mandel. He is a tall 6', slim man with short black hair of 33 with a sardonic smile and a professional politicians manner. He wears black suits, smiles a lot and always wants to know what everyone wants.
The next senior councilor is Natasha Kirinoff. She is a cool customer with short spiky black hair, 6' and 135 lbs. She wears dark form fitting clothes with extremely low plungeing necklines that show off her ample curves. She is 29 with a reserved smile, sharp pierceing blue eyes and a razor sharp tongue.
The 3rd senior councilor is Liam Kerchif. He is 5'10" and 200 lbs with a stocky frame and wide shoulders and deep chest. He has short black hair with lots of gray and is 52. He wears a lot of light colored clothes and smiles seldom. He has a very serious nature and a gravely voice.
The councilor from the mining colony of Oreville to the north is Hans Bruman. He is a giant of a man at 6'4" and 260 lbs most of it muscle. He has long dirty brown hair and a beard. He usually wears casual clothes or work clothes. He smiles a lot and has a very deep bass voice but is very friendly and charming.
The councilor from the village of Da'Vil is Candy Chambers. She is a sexy vision that turns mens heads. She has long legs, wears very short skirts, tight tops and has long waist length pure blonde wavy hair. With pouty kissable lips and sparkling blue eyes most men look at least twice at her. She is 5'10" and 130 lbs and looks to be in her twenties.
The councilor from the village of Riverdale far up river is Nick Loran. This disagreeable obnoxious man is about 5'11", 190 lbs, with short spiky rusty brown hair and an unshaven face. He speaks his mind, insults everyone, dislikes all outlanders intensely and could not care less how he looks.
The councilor from the village of Newport which is on the coast to the south is Bob Tompson. This older man is very tall 6'3" and slim at about 160 lbs. He is 48 with very short premature gray hair and a tall slim face. He wears neat tidy gray suits, is very well spoken and a workaholic.
The councilor from the village of Techville close to the power generation facility to the north is Raymond Stewart. He is an average looking 36 year old tech who is about 6' and 170 lbs. He wears glasses, has very short sandy hair and wears his work clothes most of the time. He seldom speaks up and tends to follow the majority of his fellow Mirians lead on issues and votes.
The councilor from the village of Tattling up river is Thelma Viril. This older woman has shoulder length brown hair, is 5'9" and 130 lbs with an aggressive personality. She loves to talk, speaks her mind and when she wants can be extremely stubborn. She is 53 and wears conservative pant suits.
Outlander Councilors
The Terran colony representative from Europa is Edgar Brice who is a 47 year old teacher. He stands about 6'1" and weights about 160 lbs. He has short sandy hair shot through with gray. His blue eyes are steady. He can be very forceful and tends to speak his mind.
The Denobulan colony representative from Drubin is Peria Miash who is a 35 year old doctor. She stands about 5'8" and weights about 130 lbs. She is cheerful, with a bright smile and active eyes. She loves to chat but her obvious intelligence is always active. She is a master of the quizical comment that seems to accidently bring out more info than others wanted to reveal.
The Bolian colony representative from Bomar is Gorin Bith who is a 39 year old architect. He is about 5'10" and weights about 180 lbs. He is jovial, friendly, with a sharp wit and active mind. He tends to be more persuasive in his approach to dealing with his fellow councilors.
The Tellarite colony representative from Swin'hoggs is Terin Wart who is a 54 year old ex-freighter captain. He is 5'9" and weights 212 lbs with an abrasive temper, abusive manner and loud opinions. As loud and unstable as he may act, Wart is in reality a cunning and effective politician.
The Caitians colony representative from Ssar'venaa is Urgit Purrin who is a 49 year old warrior who has retired from Starfleet. He was a marine. He is 6'1" and weights about 190 lbs. His tan fur is striped with black and dark brown markings. His tail seems to be constantly in motion while he can sit for what seems hours just staring. He watches and listens, considering all angles before he acts or speaks.
The Deltans colony representative from Eros is Dara Alphro who is a 38 year old administator. She is 5'10" and weights about 135 lbs. She tends to be very quiet but when she does speak it is in an authorative manner matched only by her eloquince. She keeps most of the others at arms length but is all for a co-operative solution to their problems.
The Andorians colony representative from Ando is Thimi Shen Tovir who is a 41 year old scientist/clan leader. She is tall, 6' and about 160 lbs. She has long waist length white braided hair, wears traditional Andorian robes and is a fierce driven woman. Even thou the Andorian colony tends to be isolationists they recognize the need to be active within the newly formed Planetary Council.
