The Antares is a medical ship, which can be called upon for any major medical crisis, or evacuation. Under the command of Lieutenant Commander Hayden Reynolds (NPC) the Braveheart normally performs medical studies and/or research around the Trinity Sector, ranging as far as Deep Space 17.
The Olympic-class starships are designed as mercy vessels, and as such are equipped only with defensive tactical systems. If the Antares is required to attend a crisis some distance away from its home base, it is standard for escort vessels to accompany it.
