A largely mysterious alien race, they can be described as a reclusive race of gastropods. They generally require a viscous organic fluid environment for movement and nourishment. Though nondescript physically, they prefer to live -- or at least confer -- in pool of thick swirling ooze which is carefully maintained at a constant 150o C.
