Following the destruction of [[Ivor]] by a Borg cube in 2373, a special Starfleet taskforce rendez-voused in the Typhon Sector. Commanded by Admiral Hayes, this sector was the location of their first engagement with the Borg cube as it headed towards Earth. They were however unsucessful in hindering the Borg Cube's advance, despite fighting it all the way to Sector 001. Commanded by Admiral Hayes, this sector was the location of their first engagement with the Borg cube as it headed towards Earth. The Typhon sector is of course related to the Typhon Expanse which is on the edge of this remote sector of Federation Space
