The Cheydalanga were a minor member of the Dominion just before the end of the war, on the far side of the former Dominion sphere of influence[1] In 2401, they contacted were contacted by the United Dominion of Planets, and in response, the Cheydaldangan government reached out to the United Federation of Planets. The USS Octavia E. Butler responded to the call.

The current government structure is unclear however it is suggested that Cheyd operate on a system where ones birth dictates a cheyd's role. However it was suggested by Intercessor Ulto'Delarento that one can work their way up to a Government position [2]
