Personal History

Although she wasn’t born into a Noble House, Deborah’s no stranger to the Houses, as her family has, on various occasions, acted for various House families. One of six children born to Jestia d’amBie and Evan Turow’endial, , her birth name is Deborra (she changed it to the Earth counterpart at age 18), and grew up on her home planet of Betazed to become immersed in the Betazoid culture.

Her father, Evan, is a respected trade representative for Betazed, despite not descending from a founding ancestor. And like her entire family, Deborah spent many a season playing hostess for numerous clients. Despite her harsh, hawk-like appearance and not having the beauty and grace of most women, she was somewhat of an oddity growing up. A hooked nose, off-set ridges against olive skin made her both a target as well as sympathy, neither of which she cared much for.

She also bares the brunt of not having an arranged courtship, nor did she participate in the growing up rituals of her culture. But she’s among one of the strongest telepaths, able to stand with some of the Houses in her ability (causing some speculation as to whether or not either the d’amBie or Turow’endial family line may or may not be an ancestoral).

By the time Deborah was sixteen in 2365, she was striking, but not as normally associated. She was by all accounts unique in several ways, as the flaws of her physical beauty made her much more harshingly attractive by many. As a middle child, and not the eldest daughter, she was faced with the prospect of many like her to decide her fate. Her family by this time had been cementing a relationship with Barbara Jennet’s Trade Securities Company, and she took the opportunity to return with Barbara Jennet to Mars Colony and learn under Jennet’s tutelage.

She is somewhat of an apprentice, somewhat of an inherited daughter. She spent five years living with the Cody family, where she found herself right at home with a fourteen years old David, and apprenticing with Jannet Trade Securities Corporation (JTSC), and by 2372, was a fully trained securities investigator for the company, at twenty-three years of age.

But disaster fell in 2375 before her twenty-sixth birthday with the discovery she made a week after not hearing from Barbara or Barnes. Deborah found them dead at their house and called it in. Convinced it was murder, Deborah launched one of the most comprehensive, in-house investigations, and true to her mentor, went as far to the Federation Council to present her arguments.

Deborah didn’t even wait for the reading of the will once the Medical Examiner ruled out foul play. It was somewhat of a shock to learn while David Scott Cody., who had been missing for nearly six years after leaving Mars in 2370, retained ownership of the company, she was named executor of the estates and left to run the company as she saw fit. True to her own heritage, Deborah took the reigns and has remained with the JTSC ever since.

Psychological Profile

Like most, Deborah’s usually introverted and introspective, but displays a coarse and cunning extroverted nature. Before her mentor died, she traveled extensively throughout the systems, but now remains on Mars Colony overseeing the company and managing its employees.

She maintains singlehood, which is another oddity (although she professes she just doesn’t have the time and hasn’t found anyone). As she is a very powerful telepath, she holds a stricter adherence than many Betazoids do as to avoid using her ability 99% of the time. She is a caregiver, and underneath the gruff, most times tough exterior Deborah is extremely passionate in both her culture as well as other races, often prone to observe gift-baring to those who get to know her.

But at the end of the day, again so completely unlike her heritage, Deborah eats alone.
