CHRONOLOGICAL HISTORY

Education: Doctoral degree in Xenobiology and Xenoecology from The Trill Science Academy. Starfleet Academy with a specialization in astrophysics and medicine.

Personal History: Riann was born on the New Denver Colony, a "frontier" colony on the western end of the spiral arm of the galaxy. This small colony had few people and even fewer encounters with Starfleet. Located on a very mountainous planet, Riann would spend much of her time exploring and collecting plants no one had ever seen before. She had always fancied herself a great explorer, as she was positive she was the first to venture up many new peaks on her home world.

In her teenager years, Riann spent her free time learning about Earth's 'wild west' history for which her home colony was named, especially the history of Denver Colorado. She also quickly picked up the earth game of Futball with her human friends, and she played on club teams, dreaming of one day playing in The Galaxy Cup.

Riann was fortunate to be protected by her parents from much of the struggles that come from living in a small border colony, like Orion Raiders and a lack of Federation resources. Though these events were constantly influencing her childhood, she did not learn about them till much later in her life when the colony was attacked, and she lost many friends.

Growing up on such an isolated planet, Riann really lacked any type of true culture. Instead her culture consisted of a mishmash of Trill, Human, Klingon, Orion and Ferengi traditions and histories.

Having such a solitary childhood Riann has always struggled in social situations. Her mind tends to wonder and she day dreams of new adventures or ideas constantly. She is nearly always immersed in thought, a trait that suited her well at school when she desired to learn more about the topic. But she would always get herself into trouble when she wouldn't focus and her mind was elsewhere. Growing up Riann learned to wear her emotions on her sleeve and to be forward about everything. But her experiences on Trill and at the Academy have put her in a few too many uncomfortable situations, and Riann has recently been struggling to keep much of her personality to herself.

Riann's experiences as an only child and exploring the colony of New Denver lead to her desire to go off world. At 18 years old Riann left her colony for the first time, bound for The Trill Science Academy where she would learn all she could about alien biology, cultures and ecosystems.

Upon her graduation at age 24 with a doctoral science degree, Riann went on to join the Academy so that her dreams of being a true explorer could finally be realized. At the Academy she studied astrophysics to learn all the obscurities of space travel. But she was never the best student, always getting side tracked by other interests and desires.
