Vek'Ma grew up on Qo'nos in the house of Marg. Born to a warrior House, Vek'Ma, like those before him, dreamed of being a Klingon warrior. At the age of 17 Vek'Ma under went the [[ma:Rite_of_MajQa|Rite of MajQa]] where his visions showed his destiny as a warrior did not lie with the Empire but elsewhere. Marg and No'Rel were not disappointed for his destiny was to still be a warrior. Vek'Ma's parents requested an audience with Ambassador Worf to seek his endorsement on a Star Fleet Academy application.
