Personal History

Born on Ferenginar to Nalavak and Rinka, Nonka was one of quite a few children. Namely Yazack, Beribar, Razal and Prazoc. Unlike her family, predisposed to an obsession with making profit, her interests lingered more in what dwelled above her, in the beautiful starry soup of space. And as it turned out, with a bit of poking and prodding from granny Yagena, stargazing and science in general was a subject she was quite talented in. More talented than waitressing at the family restaurant, which often spelt disaster, thanks to her proclivity for dropping things. Although Rinka and Nalavak were disappointed when Nonka told them she was applying for Starfleet Academy, resulting in a very awkward heated discussion over slug steak one evening, it was decided that perhaps having a daughter in Starfleet would someday prove useful and highly profitable, and that making those connections wouldn't hurt. She adores planets and stars and astronomy in general, often wearing big gas giant earrings on her lobes, but has fallen in love with every aspect of being a Starfleet Officer, and everything else that encompasses, and is always the first to volunteer herself for any sort of activity, even those outside of her usual realm of expertise.
