The '''Tempest Sector''' is a section of space located to the galactic south of the [[Tholian|Tholian Assembly]]. It is relatively unexplored as the Federation has yet to focus its exploration efforts towards it. Recently, exploration has shown that the sector used to be inhabited by an ancient race called the [[K'Thon]]. As of 2391, the Starfleet has assigned the [[USS Victory]] to begin studying the uncharted territory.  
The Tempest Sector is a section of space located below the Tholian Assembly and for many years has never been explored by any sentient races. The span of void's oldest neighbors, the [[Tholian|Tholians]] have refused to enter because they feel it is taboo.
 
Filled with unexplored planets and ancient secrets, the USS Victory is the first starship to enter the Tempest on a mission to chase down an ancient threat that casting a shadow of the galaxy.  


== History of the Tempest Sector ==
It is part of a larger southern region known as [[Nashira Rho]].


Though information is still being collected, it has been discovered that an ancient race known as the K'Thon Empire used to control most of what is now known as the Tempest sector and though uplifted by an older race called the Yeltan, they became ruthless in their desire to conquer the known galaxy. Before the major powers of today's galaxy were even crawling on the shores of their homeworlds, the K'Thon had been busy destroying any race that refused to bow down to them as gods.

The tempest sector is not an empty wasteland as once believed. Though many of the star systems are dead and dying, races do flourish on the few inhabitable worlds. Some of the most notable is the medium sized [[Ivuni|Ivuni Nation States]], the inter-galactic trading hub [[Trapper's Point]] and massive nebula [[Orthica's Bane|Orthica's Bane]].


Over six thousand years, the K'Thon conquered and destroyed the known galaxy, but a great event, which presently is unknown, wiped them out and erased their existence from the map.  
One place that all species of the tempest sector avoid is near the far galactic west of the sector, the [[Tempest Phantom Realm|Phantom Realm]]. Every species with warp capability have horror stories about that sector and refuse to enter it no matter what the cost.


An interesting planet is the [[Ammonia_planet|Ammonia planet]], located near the center of the area.

The Tempest Sector is a section of space located to the galactic south of the Tholian Assembly. It is relatively unexplored as the Federation has yet to focus its exploration efforts towards it. Recently, exploration has shown that the sector used to be inhabited by an ancient race called the K'Thon. As of 2391, the Starfleet has assigned the USS Victory to begin studying the uncharted territory.

It is part of a larger southern region known as Nashira Rho.
