===Civilian Quarters (decks 122 to 221)===
== Decks 221–230: Commercial Sector ==
The larger civilian quarters are on decks 122 to 172 and each deck holds 40 living spaces.
: ''For a list of former Commercial Sector establishments, please see [[Guide to Deep Space 224/Former]].''

The smaller civilian quarters are on decks 173 to 221 and each deck holds 80 living spaces.
While most decks on the station span the standard height of 4.5 meters, the Commercial Sector is constructed such that its 10 decks are grouped into five double-level decks. This means that some stores may have two levels once you enter, or that some shops might be situated directly above others. On the promenades, there are mezzanines that allow access to both levels, but that do not obstruct the wide open space  created by the full 9-meter ceiling height. This also allows the holodecks to be full size.

==Commercial Sector (decks 222 to 230)==
=== Deck 221–222: Holosuites ===
While most decks on the station are 1 level all 3 of the promenade levels are in actuality double levels. This means that some stores may have 2 levels once you enter or that some shops may be on top of other shops.

There is a middle deck, that in places, allows people to walk around the second level of each promenade but it does not block in most cases one's ability to enjoy the wide open space that has been created by having the ceiling 20 plus feet above as you walk around.

This also allows the holodecks to be full size.

====Holodecks====
There are at least three Holodecks and a number of Holosuites in the vicinity of the Promenades. All three of the holodecks are the standard size found on most stations, with an interior of 20' high, 60' wide and 60' long.

While the station has an Arboretum on the First Promenade its small size makes it a nice place for visitors to the station to relax. This nature level is only for station personnel. It also doubles as a research station into the native plant life in this sector. Also any plants from any where on the station may be transferred down here for care if they are not doing so well. Station personnel can also get plants for their quarters or offices and so can Starfleet personnel on board ships as well.

Deep Space 224 (DS224) is a large station in The Borderlands. As the focal point of the Federation's and Starfleet's presence in the region, it has many facilities to support a range of diplomatic, scientific, cultural, educational, and economic activities. With 397 decks, DS224 maintains an average population of approximately 9,000 (5,000 crew and 4,000 residents), although it can accommodate a maximum of 11,700 (5,700 crew and 6,000 residents).

Decks 1–230 are the commercial, habitat, and operations decks. Decks 231–397 are cargo bays, docking bays, engineering, power, weapons, shuttle bays and ship repair facilities.

Decks 1–5: Communications and deep space sensors

Besides the controls and access to the electronics that control all the communications and deep space sensors this area also houses an emergency back up power system. This system is strong enough to operate the top 15 decks of the station. Their is also an emergency back up life support system that can do the same.

Decks 6–15: Operations

Day to day operations of the station are overseen by the highest ranking officer on the station, although these duties are to be turned over to the senior staff of the USS Gemini while the ship is docked for repairs.

Operations Center (Ops)

The Operations Center, also called Main Ops or simply Ops, is DS224's command and control facility. It contains, among other things, the station commander's office, a turbolift, a transporter room, and a viewscreen.

This means that some stores may have two levels once you enter, or that some shops might be situated directly above others. On the promenades, there are mezzanines that allow access to both levels, but that do not obstruct the wide open space created by the full 9-meter ceiling height. This also allows the holodecks to be full size.

Deck 221–222: Holosuites

There are at least three Holodecks and a number of Holosuites in the vicinity of the Promenades. All three of the holodecks are the standard size found on most stations, with an interior of 20' high, 60' wide and 60' long.
