Some officers had reservations about the risky and questionable mission, including its true purpose. Instead of entreating the Klingon government to assist them with the retrieval of the Geneva, Starfleet had instead decided to try and secure the vessel and it's experimental and controversial armaments without outside interference. The Constitution's command officers tried to allay these reservations, but there were too many loose threads to convincingly bolster morale. Now, on the dawn of the mission, the crew departs on a borrowed Klingon ship, and time will soon tell if these questionable tactics prevent an interstellar incident, or incites one.

Mission Brief

Starfleet has designed a new advanced prototype starship equipped with the latest shield and propulsion technologies: the Geneva Class. On its final long range test with a skeleton crew before its commissioning it strayed into Klingon space. A rogue Klingon Captain saw this as an opportunity and stole the ship. A lone engineer managed to escape and return to Starfleet with her report. The Constitution is ordered to investigate, and if possible retrieve the vessel intact.

Additional Information

Dossier about Captain Klix Vraj

Note: The article contains some information about a non federation cruise ship being attacked by Klingon pirates, it may or may not be linked.

Confidential: Star Fleet Personnel Only
Name: Klix Vraj
Birth: Stardate 2365 (Approximation)
Birthplace: Unknown

Klix Vrag is a Klingon Mercenary (Though she allegedly refers to herself as a “Privateer”) who became active approximately 2379. Prior to 2379, there are scant details on her whereabouts. She is believed to be the daughter of a mercenary Klingon woman known only as Klarash. It is believed she was raised amongst Klingon pirates and there are only a few brief listings of her ever being on Qo’nos, only for her to be recorded as off world shortly after.

Vrag has been associated with the pillaging of freight ships, scientific expeditions, colonies and recreational cruises. She was associated as a crew member under the Infamous Vuchlrughly Zrug (Known as the “Crimson Blade”) until Zrug’s death in 2381. While Zrug’s crew was assumed killed, Vrag was listed as Missing in Action as her body was never found, nor was any forensic confirmation able to be determined.

In 2383, Klix was noted as alive when she when she attacked the ship of a Bounty Hunter en route to Qo’nos. It is believed the objective of this attack was to free three Klingon criminals who had been apprehended.

Notably, and perhaps unusually, the majority of Vrag’s pillaging attempts have resulted in only one death. During the attack of a recreational cruise ship, a crewman under Vrag killed an unarmed civilian who attempted to procure a weapon from one the Klingons. The wife of said civilian stated that Vrag appeared remorseful of the death, and promised the crewman who was responsible would be punished.

Regardless of her apparent show of mercy, Vrag has demonstrated she is capable of enacting competent stratagems towards theft, hijacking, and black-market trades.

  • Plot summary

A surprise senior staff meeting drew a short shore leave to a close for the crew of the USS Constitution, NCC-9012-B. Conducted by Lieutenant Commander Maxwell Traenor, the briefing informed the staff that Captain Jalana Rajel would be leading a team of volunteers on a covert and risky mission to retrieve a stolen Starfleet prototype ship. With mission support provided by Traenor, Rajel and her team would disguise themselves as Klingon pirates to infiltrate the USS Geneva, which was hijacked by rogue Klingon brigands when it accidentally strayed into the fringes of Klingon space.

After the briefing, the senior staff were left with a difficult decision to make - would they undergo cosmetic surgery to appear Klingon and volunteer for the risky mission? Several officers did just that, and the doctors of the Constitution's sickbay were busy with the alterations. "I've never seen so many cosmetic alterations at one time," exclaimed Nurse Morgan. "But like the true professionals they are, the doctors of the Conny made short work of the taxing procedures."
