History and other facts about Telez Bion:

When Telez entered the academy, he was not really sure what he wanted to do. He was known by many as a distanct cousin to the famed Talaxian on Voyager, Neelix. He did not keep in contact with Neelix much after Voyager returned home, however, he constantly get questions (to this day ) about his famed relative. Since Neelix was such a good diplomat, many people (including his parents) thought that he would emphasize his studies in diplomacy and peace-keeping operations. He wanted to distance himself, however from the sterotypical peace-loving, all-around-nice-guy Talaxian that everyone excepts. For that reason, he did not go the diplomacy route. Instead, he majored in intelligence at the academy. He also is medically trained (he is a starfleet certified nurse). Telez grew up on Mars where he had an adequate home life. He father nor mother was not in Starfleet, however, Holon and Trele were both extremely talented negogiators. They taught at various public and private Mars educational instistutions and tranined all races in the art of diplomacy and negogiation. Even the famed Jean-Luc Picard has noted in his ships logs about the exceptional methods of telez's parents. telez parents were very supportive of his decision to join starfleet. While they were a little disappointed with decision not to pursue diplomacy and negogiation full-time, they have accepted his decision.,

While Bion made above average grades in school, he always has been a bit indecisive. Serveral startfleet professors have noted they he lacks the ability to stand firm on hardly any issue. Many believe it is due to his "diplomatic" upbringing. Telez's studies reflect this fact--his official major was intelligence, he has "dabbled" in medicine, security, botany, and of course, does in fact have a knack for diplomacy (although he will not admit it unless pressed by a superior). Many professors think that Telez's true gift is diplomacy, but since he is so "hell-bent" on breaking sterotypes, he does not pursue that field.

Bion is an avid card player and loves card games, Talaxian or otherwise. At the academy he stared a Talaxian a "billows" club (a Talaxian card game similar to 'hearts') which is still strong today. He hates sports that involve physcial activity, and is not very athetic. In fact, he failed the Physcial part of the starfleet entrace exam five times and was almost not admitted because of it.

Bion's sister is currently enrolled at the Academy and is, unlike her older brother, getting an emphasis in diplomacy.
