Background
Claryx was born in a family of artists and for many years she thought that she would follow the tradition of her relatives. She was at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, (Paris Earth), when, on an a whim, she decided to give everything up and join Starfleet.
She had somehow hoped that her parents would resent her decision, but nothing of the sort happened. They simply continued their eccentric lives, travelling all over the planet, attending to gallery openings and other glamorous events. If anything her absence gave them more freedom to do what they wanted.
Her years at Starfleet Academy proved to be particularly difficult for her, especially after the life of leisure she had enjoyed in Paris, but now that she has graduated, she looks forward to a brand new life in space. She has also discovered that joining the Fleet has given a strong sense purpose to her life, something she is grateful for.
Having spent all her childhood in France, she speaks with a strong French accent, and will often say French words without even realizing it.
She is a firm believer that only the present matters, but she has kept one connection to her past: she likes to paint, even if she knows she will never be as good as her parents. For this reason, she never keeps her canvas, as she sees those painting attempts as mere exercises to calm her inner self.
Being only part Betazoid, she has no telepathic abilities.
