A society of innovators and great technological minds, the Kaleans hold the patents to most of the standardized and highly advanced technology in the quadrant. Epidermal regeneration, biobeds, and modern tricorders all have roots in Kalean ideas (Though not all of these inventions were made by Kaleans) and while the Kaleans might not always invent it first, 'they sure as hell make it ''better'' first'. Medical technology is the field in which Kaleans are truly light years ahead of their interstellar neighbours. Kaleans invented a near Panacea to cure most common diseases and alleviate the symptoms of many more, though this catch all cure is thus far proving difficult to adapt to the physiology of other species. Kaleans also possess incredibly advanced weapon systems based upon plasma that produce energy weapons of extreme heat. This unique weapon base and it's obviously superior combat capabilities have provoked the Kalean Court to institute an Embargo on Kalean weapon patents being transferred off Lazow in order to keep the majority of this weaponry out of the wrong hands... but of course to Kaleans, 'the wrong hands' equates to everyone who isn't them. | |||
