Dedato was the Chief of El-Auria police and also Zinna's boss and loyal friend. He often gave the counselor good advice when she was on a case and often had her do things with her telepathy that they could have done with machines, but frankly, he trusted Zinna more. Dedato and Zinna had a very close non-romantic relationship. It was almost as if they were family, but Dedato was significantly older than her, but not that it mattered. When they served together, he was in his 200's while Zinna was in her 70's, but she was his most trusted officer. He didn't even trust his right hand man more than Zinna. Dedato was almost killed, phasered to death, by a conspiracy theorist named Nealo, but Zinna saved him in the nick of time by permanently brain killing Nealo. This was the first time Zinna had used her telepathy to kill someone and the first life she had taken. Dedato helped her cope and get through it though and told her that was one of the consequences of being a "cop": not knowing if you're going to have to kill another person or not. During the Borg invasion Dedato led an assault trying to murder as many drones as possible. Zinna helped when she could, but when she sensed that more El-Aurians were being killed than killing she fled. Luckily she saw Dedato make it to a refugee ship, whether or not he was lucky enough to get to safety before it was attacked by the Borg and destroyed is beyond her knowledge.

This was Zinna's first husband. Rio was a very stunning looking man that seemed so nice, but under that shell was pure evil in Zinna's opinion. She fell in love with him around 2361 and married him in 236112.09. It was what she was known as "the trap". Rio was fun, entertaining, charming, and enjoyable during their dating stage. When he asked her to marry him Zinna couldn't say no because she figured their marriage would be like the relationship they currently had. Well, she was wrong. Rio was very tyrant and only delivered her pain whenever he didn't approve of what Zinna was doing. Zinna believed this was just some stage that all marriages go through, but hadn't expected it to be so quickly.

In Zinna's academy years she met a very interesting woman named [[Delores,_Scarlet|Scarlet Delores]]. After they became very good friends Zinna finally told her how she was being abused by her husband. Scarlet told Zinna to toughen up and to not let things weaken her. Zinna thanked her for the advice. They were really good friends and even had some bad times when Zinna would what Scarlet would call "annoying" by:

T'Mihn was the rank of ensign when Zinna met her, and she was what Zinna described as "A ball of pure happiness and sunshine". Zinna would often ask T'Mihn for advice when she needed help with patient, [[Lathu]]. She also had a girls night out with T'Mihn and also trusts her a lot. She likes T'Mihn because she never seems to get down and is always cheering people up. Zinna also thinks T'Mihn would make a perfect counselor if she had a degree in counseling. She thinks the best way to cheer someone up is to let them hang out with T'Mihn for a while. T'Mihn is also the second Vulcan Zinna has met to display emotion. She first suspected her to be like Velana, which at that point she didn't like, but soon came to her senses and realize she was nothing like Velana. In Zinna's opinion, she was much friendlier. Zinna hopes her friendship with T'Mihn will go good until the day she dies.

Zinna was still and ensign when she met Velana, and so was she. She met her during Velana's psyche evaluation, which Zinna was giving. The two became good friends until their first promotion and awards ceremony. Zinna would would constantly think it was a competition between her and Velana. When Velana was promoted ACMO, Zinna was jealous of her. When [[Beaufytor,_Leo|Lt. Beaufytor]] and [[Tan,_Alleran|Lt Cmdr. Tan]] fell in love with her, Zinna was jealous. When Velana made new friends or received a compliment, Zinna was jealous. When Velana disagreed with Zinna's suggestion of [[Lathu]], Zinna was furious and jealous because [[Wilde,_Danny|Lt Cmdr. Danny Wilde]] took her side and so did everyone else. Finally, when Velana was promoted to CMO, Zinna was extremely jealous. Not until [[Riley,_Sidney|FltCapt. Sidney Riley]] ordered them to "make up" in a holodeck simulation that Zinna stopped being jealous of Velana. But before Velana and Zinna could become friends again, she transferred to the [[USS Mercury]].

A civilian counselor who at first Zinna thought was there to steal her job, soon after she fell into a comma, she fell in love with him. Dr. Kolar took a LOA and Zinna's been love sick ever since.

Zinna hard first started out to like the ensign, the rank he held when she met him. And according to her BFF, Scarlet Delores, Zinna had a crush on him. Zinna denied it but had a little feeling in her heart that made her like him because of his enthusiasm. But after they were preparing for an away mission the Helmsman suggested old earth style guns which Zinna hated the idea of and her interest sort of lost in him. She still sort of likes him but not too much because of the gun incident.
