History
Growing up in Glimar, literally a city under the sea, Chorkin unfortunately suffered from a sort of claustrophobia. It was as though she could always feel all the water pushing down on her. Her family and teachers all reassured her that the dome was taking all of the pressure, but it seemed that she could always feel it. She grew to accept it, but it was always there at the back of her mind. It was as a result of this that she shipped out from Bolarus as soon as she reached the age of majority. Joining Starfleet Academy was less a personal goal and more a matter of not really knowing where else to go. However, she quickly grew to love the classes and the cameraderie. It took longer than usual for her to graduate due to being unable to pick a focus of learning; she frequently changed her mind on what studies to concentrate in. She ended up with essentially a triple-concentration in engineering, sciences, and medicine.
