Starfleet Engineering, Passed with honors from the academy spent three years aboard the USS Exeter until, while they were in warp they encountered a warp space anomaly which ripped the ship apart killing 120 crew. After the incident he requested a temporary shore based assignment where he was sent to Talphos 2, after 6 months on the outpost he requested his assignment be permanent, which was granted and has been there ever since.
- Mother: Dana Phillips-Logan, 45, Human, Born Talphos 2
Born and raised on the colony word Dana showed great aptitude for engineering, so when the federation established its outpost Dana was '‘employed’ as a civilian contractor. She met Carlos Logan. She met Carlos Logan the first day he arrived, it wasn’t long before they became engaged, it was because of her that Carlos requested the permanent transfer to Talphos 2, and were married a year to the day they met. Siblings:
- Older brother:Manuel Phillips Logan, Older brother, 25, Human, Born Taphos 2
Taking after his parents Manuel showed a keen interest and aptitude for engineering but despite living in a federation colony and outpost he has no desire to join Star fleet or to leave Talphos 2. He has become a civilian engineering contractor at the outpost
- Younger Sister: Jane Phillips Logan 20, Human, Born Talphos 2
Also taking after her parents Jane showed a keen interest and aptitude for engineering, however unlike her older brother Manuel Jane followed Kurt’s path and signed up for Star Fleet. She is at present in Cadet Training at the academy on Earth.
Unlike his siblings Kurt showed little interest in engineering or in fact any academic study and spent most of his time outdoors, even in weather which made others head inside. Forever running, climbing, rough housing and falling.. a fair share of falling.
Growing older his interest in study grew even shorter while his rough housing increased, it came to a head when he disappeared from home for 6 days taking his father’s hand Phaser and an old Talphos chemical rifle. He was found at a campsite where he had constructed a shelter and had caught food for himself and was ‘unhappy’ to be taken home. It was his mother who suggested that they channel his energy into his preferred areas of running, sports, boxing, mixed martial arts tournaments, wilderness treks and anything else to keep him occupied. There was one condition to all this his schooling must improve, slowly his academic studies and grades improved, one thing his mother insisted on with all their children and his father as well was the learning of the ‘Forforne’ a partnered dance that’s a mix of Salsa, flamenco and freestyle. It wasn’t until he realised that the ladies all like a good dancer that he took it seriously, although despite his best efforts he is the worst dancer of his family.
One day when visiting his father at work he listened in on a Star fleet enlistment talk, and decided on his path, his choice of path didn’t go down well at first that of the Marine Corp, but realising that the training was exactly what he needed and at least they would make him study.
Thankfully the Corp weren’t interested in to many entrance exams, as his lack of early concentration was evident. since his time there he has had to study, and has caught up with their rest of the cadets of his age, however while he has excelled at combat and tactical studies although somewhat unorthodox at times his talents in engineering for example do tend to be not the most proficient.
Stories from his father and other federation personnel on Talphos 2 has showed Kurt that life among the stars is full of risk and people do die, even seeing this first hand with traders killing each other of cargo, and the results of accidents and attacks on shipping has resulted in his almost ‘cheeky chappy’ style with a smile and remark for any occasion and wink for the pretty ladies. There have been several instances where it was believed he was flirting with certain females, one of those being a Klingon Ambassadors Daughter, which caused some altercations, it has even been muted with his seeming indifference for dangerous situations, that he has a devil may care attitude with no care for any consequences. Kurt puts it another way.

Homeworld: Talphos II
A Federation colony was first established near 300 years ago, unfortunately unbeknown to the colonists the transport ship that brought them to the world encountered an unexpected anomaly and was destroyed, Even to Star Fleet the fate of the ship was unknown. Resources were needed elsewhere with new colonies, first contacts and conflicts, slowly the fate of the Talphos colony faded. It stayed that way for 250 years, in that time the colony flourished and grew to the point of space travel was achieved. One of their ships was located by the USS London, and a check of records lead to the rediscovery of a lost colony, still working by its Federation roots. In the 50years since the colony has expanded with an Outpost being added to the colony as well as a small Space dock allowing for an expansion of trade routes, and giving Star Fleet a stronger foot hold in the area. An old custom still practice by some of the colonists is to use the Wife’s maiden name as the children’s middle name.
