History

Mitchell Kavalier volunteered for the New Cydonian army at 16; he lied about his age and made it into the infantry, where he survived against all odds for three months during the Dominion War. After his time at the front, he trained as a pilot and flew mostly medical emergency vehicles until the end of the war. After the war, he was still barely old enough to legally join the army, so he wandered for a year, and then another, in and out of spaceports, slowly making his way towards Deep Space 9. Once there, he took up residence aboard the station for two years, until he was finally drawn through the wormhole. He spent another two years exploring the Gamma Quadrant alone, and then returned - he had either found what he was looking for, or determined it to be more elusive than ever. From then on, however, he gave up his solitary life and began shipping out on independent ships or working within groups and unions; he continued in that vein for the past six years.

For the past eight months, he has appeared aboard the USS Drake as a minor petty officer in charge of the ship's brig. While it's unpaid work, he receives a berth, food, transportation, and shore leave, should he desire it, and so he will continue to serve until other opportunities present themselves.
