Personal History

Angelina was born and spent her formative years in Florence, Italy.

Family expanded: Both parents in the Medical Field. Mother is a research scientist, specializing in rare disease research. Father is a cybernetic prosthetic specialist.

Her brother, Alessandro is a Starfleet marine. His name means "protector or helper of mankind". Parents had intended for that to be in the medical field in some capacity, he picked a different route saying that the meaning applied to him differently. He's the eldest of the siblings.

One sister older then her, Caterina is married and works as a teacher at a college. Her husband, Edward, is a member of the diplomatic corps.

Her youngest sibling is studying to be an engineer. Her goal is to work at a prominent shipyard once she has completed her studies. Her name is Seline.

Angelina had a fairly normal upbringing. Her brother had been going into the marines at about the same time she had started medical school. There had been some contention about his decision, including loud shouting matching about being disowned. Once it was realized that nothing would derail him from his decision, the conversations had turned more to concern. By the time she was halfway thru Medical School it had been accepted as just the way things were.

Medical school had been difficult for her at first. Between the class load and the schedule at breakneck speed she had thought more then once that she wouldn't be able to make it. She stayed the course to graduation and realized that the first few years are just to get you warmed up to be an intern. She graduated in the top 7% of her class.

She signed her papers of intent to join Starfleet not long after graduation. In some regards her decision had been based on her admiration of her brother. He had decided to do something outside of what was expected and she had felt a need and desire to do the same.
