Background
Wyla comes from a small family of four. Born in Lasana City on the equatorial region of Antosia she is like most of her species. In that she's always eager to try/experience something new. Wyla has always had a overwhelming longing to travel space on a starship. After all, what could possibly be more exciting than travelling the stars? It was that reason she enlisted in Starfleet, though during her studies she show a proclivity towards helping and healing others.
During her formative years of schooling on Antosia she was most interested in the medical profession. Oft volunteering to be the test subject for whatever affliction they needed to learn of next.
Species note: During medical school, they use a very unusual teaching method. In order to show how various illnesses affects their species, they inject one of the med students with a highly aggressive virus, and quarantine all the students to the same area so they can tell the difference between directly affected (injected) and those infected by exposure (which was a weaker infection). Since they have such aggressive white blood cells and a highly adaptive immune system this normally fatal and cavalier method of instruction tends to be a safe teaching method.
She is terribly excitable, possessing a bubbly, enthusiastic personality bordering on annoying sometimes. She can be sometimes forgetful, in the case of forgetting to introduce herself to her new CO upon arriving to the Atlantis.
Career History
Wyla enlisted in Starfleet in 2390, entering into Starfleet Medical Academy with Nursing as her Major.
Graduating from the Academy in 2395 at the start of the year, having spent an extra year in the Academy to complete a few more clinical rotations and get more training. She was assigned to DS26 in the Par'tha Expanse after graduation despite her desires to serve on a starship.
In the four months since her posting, she's submitted fifty-six transfer requests to be assigned to a ship. The last one was accepted upon Atlantis' birthing at the station for repairs and in the aftermath of the loss of crew form the recent spider bot attack.
