|LOG=My first mission was a wild, scary, exciting, exhausting and all together invigorating introduction to my life in Starfleet, I'm just glad it wasn't also the end to it.  It's amazing working with these seasoned spacers and scientists, many of whom have years of experience on me with even more mind-blowing situations.  I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the crew now that things have calmed down and hope I can get my feet under me a bit now that the immediate crisis has been resolved.  Over the next few days I intend to check in with the CMO, a Doctor named Skyfire whose unique bionetic implant helped save the lives of the away team, and the ships Counselor, a fellow named Dugoras.  I'll also need to finally meet my department head, Chief Rosek, and find out just how much trouble I'm going to get in for hot-wiring her ship to within an meter of melting.  Maybe I should replicate some donuts?  I wonder if she has recovered completely, she looked pretty beat up after that away mission.  Actually, that gives me an idea of the order I should do things in.  Here's to a day of no exploding consoles.  Oh, that reminds me.  End log.}}

|LOG=We have located the Artemis on long-range sensors and are proceeding at best possible speed. I notified Commander Mei’konda and the Montreal earlier this morning. They are farther away and will take longer to rendezvous with us, but we can’t afford to allow the Artemis to fall into Tholian hands. The ship is already technically within Tholian territory. If the Tholians catch us, our mere presence may be enough to push the current tensions into all-out war.}}

|TITLE=Chief Engineers Log - Stardate 239511.19 - Acting Chief Geoffrey Teller, reporting
|LOG=It's taken days to find the fault someone worked into our power systems and I'm still not sure how they pulled it off.  If we hadn't found it, most of the forward EPS grid would've overloaded catastrophically and the ship would've been destroyed.  We've finished repairing the sabotage and are bringing the tactical systems back online in a few minutes, after which I hope to give some of the Engineering crew some off time.  We've all been living on caffeine and ration bars and that kind of effort, while commendable, breeds errors if it goes on too long.  I never realized just how much personnel management someone like the Chief has to do.  I might even need to go into the office and start filling out some of the crew evaluation forms soon.  I think I'll just give everybody a promotion and call it a day.}}

|LOG=For the last two days Commanders Blake and Kelrod have been running the crew through combat simulations on the holodecks. Lt. Cmdr. Blake has assigned me the task of training the Gamma shift crew in close quarters drills. I have been assigned Security Chief Endilev along with Crewmen Bicondova and Welling. The Team and I have had little rest. We have been working through the alpha shift for their training time.  Commander Kelrod's expectations are that we get all crew through the holodecks for close quarters as well as ship to ship combat.
Tholians are an unknown when it comes to hand to hand combat, Starfleet's own records are limited. It seems the Tholians don't board ships, so much as capture in them in their webs and flood them with radiation, eliminating the Crew and any need for close quarters combat. Chief Endilev and I have been working with the Medical and Engineering crewmen on techniques for self defense, while Crewmen Bicondova and Welling have been running  ship to ship and spatial  combat drills. My Team has worked tirelessly and without complaint, each deserves commendation for their work in preparing their shipmates for any coming battles with the Tholians.}}

|LOG=Commander Delano’s team has returned to Veritas, along with an unexpected “guest” Ensign G’var apprehended, one of the pirates responsible for some of the cargo’s theft, who’s currently being treated in our sickbay.
Meanwhile, Ensign Teller has beamed over to Artemis along with Ensign Ukinix and a small team of engineers to begin work on scuttling the ship. Whatever equipment they can salvage for our own use on Veritas is welcome, but I’ve made it clear to them our priority is removing Artemis from the map.}}

|LOG=Acting on the Captains orders, the engineering teams are modifying several systems aboard the abandoned USS Artemis to implement my 'slipstream scuttle' plan.  Ensign Ukinix and Crewman Chalmers are currently working to salvage what we can, transporting spare ordinance and parts back to the Veritas.  We should be ready to implement the plan in a few minutes.  I have to admit to some misgivings at this point - I'm confident the plan will work, but it breaks my heart to destroy a ship like this in her prime.
To the spirit of the Good Ship Artemis, I thank you and wish you calm seas on your last journey.}}

|LOG=Away Mission to the Artemis was successful to a degree, Commander Blake and myself were successful in restoring Auxiliary power and averting the re-engagement of the ship's self-destruct sequence. We were also able to rescue three of the ships crew from members of the Orion Syndicate who had boarded the ship in hopes of salvaging highly classified and state of the art surveillance equipment. I was also able to capture three Syndicate Members, whom Dr Alora is treating us Sickbay now.
Meanwhile I have returned to Ensign Alken and mine's quarters for a shower and change of uniform. While apprehending the Three Pirates I sustained injury. Thanks to the  Medical staff in sick bay along with the aid of Commander Del Vedova my wound has been stabilized and healed. However, My blood is still afire, the scent of the female Orion, Mistress IA, is still in my nostrils. The last hour I've tried to meditate, even used cold packs to try and calm myself. Whatever that woman did to me, the effects are lasting.}}

|LOG=The wider situation between the Federation and the Tholian Assembly remains tense, but for now, the all-out war Ekal warned about has been averted. How long that lasts, I can’t say. The sleeping giant of the Alpha Quadrant has finally awoken.
For now, Veritas has made its way to a small habitable moon of a gas giant where I plan to allow the crew shore leave. But first, I wanted to check-in with my former first officer.}}

|TITLE=Captain's Log, Week 8
|LOG=Has it really been eight weeks? It feels both too much time and yet not enough to account for everything we’ve accomplished thus far. We’ve managed to locate the rest of the crew, and thankfully, our casualties were light.
Teller, Ukinix, and the other engineers have managed to construct a "town" using the escape pods and shuttles the crew brought down with them. Unfortunately, all of them aren’t in any condition to fly, the same phenomenon that had depleted Veritas of all its fuel having done the same to the collection of small craft now on the surface.
Veritas herself is presumed lost. She'd have long burned up in the atmosphere by now. If we could somehow venture out to explore more of the moon, we might discover if a large part of the wreck has touched down on the surface. There might be more salvageable components.}}

|TITLE=Security/Tactical Officer G'var's Log, Planet Limbo, Week 8
|LOG=Eight weeks and no rescue, the "day" on Limbo seems to never end. The beauty of this planet has vanished for me. There is only so much swimming and hiking one can do to busy themselves. The heat and Humidity are bearable, no worse than the Fire Caves on Boreth. I've found solace in finding a routine, and returning to my duties as a Security Officer, while not quit the same as on the Ship. "Night" on Limbo is a relative term, with the Ring Giant hanging in the sky, night is one long twilight. Limbo does have its share or predators, but so far nothing that we've not been able to handle. I've had my Security Teams began conserving our Phasers' power, I've designated one Team Member as rifleman. Additionally one Team Member is issued a hand phaser. With a little hard work and a bit of hull plating from the shuttle I have been able to fashion a few bladed weapons, spears mostly, but I've finally finished forging  a Bat'leth. We've also been able to craft several recurve bows and fill a few quivers of arrows.
The CHENG has been busy improving our makeshift Camp, He even promised us that any day now the New Risa Resort and Spa would have a functioning hot tub. He had several of my Teams looking for Metals for who knows what. He has threatened to conscript me as the Camp Blacksmith. I guess I shouldn't have made a forge. IA has thankfully been keeping out of trouble, her pheromone suppressant has long run out, but she has been good to her word and not used them. She and the Nausicaans have setup a Cantina on the Beach. The Golden Monkey, so named after one of the small simians that inhabit the local jungle. How they were able to brew alcohol is beyond me, but the Crew seem appreciative and enjoy having the Cantina.}}

|TITLE=Engineering Officer’s Log, Stardate - uhhh, Day… ummm, one hundred annnnd… ten? Eleven?
|LOG=Captain Kells was recalled back to our camp by Captain Rahman not long after he joined us.  Given he is the fleet captain, G’var felt it necessary that he had a security escort back, so she dispatched most of her team to go with him.  That leaves only Lieutenant G’var, Doctor Maxwell, Crewman Bicondova and myself as the team in the hunt of the faint signals G’var detected days ago.
Our team is low on any sort of technology other than a few tricorders and my - I mean, an engineering supplied, and now dead PADD.  Which makes this log entry interesting, because talking into a palm leaf also makes this log entry redundant - but I do find it somewhat therapeutic.}}

|TITLE=Captain’s Log, Day 119
|LOG=I’ve long since given up trying to keep track of the stardate. And if this plan works, the stardate won’t matter as we’ll find ourselves aligned back with the rest of the universe, on the same day I first gave the order to abandon Veritas.
I suppose if this plan doesn’t work, the stardate still won’t matter...
Still, I must remain confident in our plan, and I do. The crew has been in high spirits the past two weeks as they’ve made the preparations for Teller and Ukinix’s plan. Every possible scrap of material we could salvage from the escape pods, shuttles, and the Compass have gone into constructing both the surface relay and the modifications to the CRI brace that Mr. Ekal will require to make this work. Though there still remains work to be done on the relay, we should be able to complete it by the time it will be needed from the ship.
First Officer Evan Delano will be leading the team going to Veritas, which includes:
-Lieutenant JG Geoffrey Teller, chief engineer
-Jhalib Ekal, our guest from the 25th century
-Ensign Kree'Ahk, science officer
-Commander Kelrod, SAR team leader
-Fleet Captain Aron Kells, who will be contributing his scientific expertise to the team
On the surface, Lt. Commander Tristam Core has been supervising the completion of the surface relay with the assistance of Lt. Commander Raissa Moonsong, science officer.
Meanwhile, a small search party consisting of
-Lieutenant G’var, security officer
-Ensign Wil Ukinix, engineering officer
-Doctor Cole Maxwell, medical officer
-Crewman Bicondova
have gone to find the personnel who still remain unaccounted for since we first sought refuge on Limbo. Among the missing include
-Lt. Commander Alora DeVeau, science officer
-Commander Nic del Vedova, diplomatic officer
-Lieutenant Jayla Petras, operations officer
-Colonial Coalition Marshal Henning Hext
-Captain Felicia Nickson, former CO of the USS Artemis
Lt. Commander Sky Blake has been recovering from her poisoning, and Counselor Jansen Orrey remains with me overseeing operations of our campsite and taking on medical duties in Doctor Maxwell’s absence.}}

|TITLE=Engineering Officer’s Log, Day 119
|LOG=After 7 days of mostly rain and not much else, we’ve discovered another escape pod.  Unlike the last pod, it has no power, and there were no bodies inside – one or more people have survived and long ago taken any supplies that were in it.  We did somehow though manage to find a working PADD in the pod that may have been missed, which means we’re now able to make proper log entries – uh, long story.
Lieutenant G’var has found some tracks nearby, which could be a promising sign that there could be more of our crewmates from the Veritas close to us.  She’s said the tracks were “interesting” and had some concerns, but other than the snake Sky encountered, there’s been nothing overly dangerous or predatory that we’ve found near the New Risa.  So, I don’t hold the same worry.}}

|TITLE=Security Officer Log, Day 119
|LOG=It's been almost Two weeks since we left New Risa, Captain Kells was recalled back to Camp on day 4 of our Expedition, since then it's been Ensign Unkinix, Doctor Maxwell, and Crewman Bicondova and Myself. It's been a long March but I feel we're finally nearing the end of or journey. We've all been in strung out shape since we discovered a downed escape pod seven days ago, and five our missing Crew dead. The mood of the Team since has been matched by the weather. It seems Limbo does have a rainy season, for the last week we've had to endure near constant rain showers. Yesterday Wil picked up another metallic signal using one of our newly scavenged tricorders. I'm hopeful we'll find another escape pod or Shuttle, with the Crew alive and safe.
We awoke this morning to a please let surprise, the deluge had finally stopped falling and we were greeted by clear skies for the first time in a week. By Kahless, even I have to admit it's good to see the sun, and finally dry out. A damp Klingon is not a happy Klingon. Wil's mood has finally brightened, I could hear him singing to himself as he went about is morning abulations. Crewman Bicondova even located one of those wonderful citrus bushes, fresh fruit for breakfast was a welcome change from Federation Emergency Rations. My Hope is that we can reach the signal we detected by mid-morning, by Kahless we get there together.}}

|TITLE=Medical Officer’s Personal Log - Day 119
|LOG=The rain has finally stopped. I was getting really sick of the nearly constant downpour. It made our trek slow as hell. Thankfully the respite came near our latest find… another abandoned Veritas escape pod. This one, thankfully, was devoid of dead bodies. Not so thankfully, this one has been robbed of just about anything useful. Ensign Ukinix is currently doing his engineering thing and ripping out anything that could at least potentially be of use. G’var seems to think we can pick up the trail of whomever was in this pod and follow it to find… whatever the hell we’re out here looking for. At this point I’d settle for one person alive and somewhat well so we can start heading back to the Camp. Have I mentioned I’m sick of this moon, sick of this jungle, and sick of this extended nature hike? Ugh… end log entry.}}

|LOG=It has been more than two weeks worth of planning and work. To save the Veritas and return to her. My head still hurts a little from the math. All I can do is hope all of this works. I still cannot shake my residual concerns. We have lived in the time distortion for months and it has permeated everything about us. Perhaps it is my concern over the children. If they are able to disperse the distortion, how will affect them? But the bottom line is that we cannot stay here. We still have hope.
Our main concern now is the construction of the relay we will need to make this plan work. Captain Rahman and Lt. Commander Core are going to be the primaries behind that. Almost enough to make me wish I were an engineer to be more helpful. Almost.}}

|LOG=Crew morale remains mostly high especially given the announcement that we are working toward making it back to the Veritas. The crew has divided up to better accomplish those goals with Doctor Maxwell taking a group to check on some odd sensor readings which we hope may be more of our crew. Commander Delano has managed to teleport to the Veritas in orbit, in the past if that makes much sense. Meanwhile most of the rest of us are doing what we can to try and complete a surface relay that will allow the rest of us to follow along once the ‘time bubble’ is taken care of by the shipside team. Hopefully it will work out...and soon.}}

|LOG=After months stagnating on planet Limbo, we are finally putting together a plan to go home. The others remain seemingly unaware, but I am extraordinarily grateful.
I've been feeling . . . different, as of late. My telepathy was always a point of contention when I first joined Starfleet - concerns were had if I, at my young age, could handle "avoiding" the thoughts of others, as it's against regulations to really partake in even minor telepathic activity unless such things have been fully agreed upon prior. I understood this completely, and though I've stretched the rules many times, there has never been a recorded incident involving myself. But I genuinely fear this may change in future.
I'm not sure if it's Limbo, or the circumstances in which we've found ourselves, but where once I was only capable of skimming the surface, hearing the murmurs of others thoughts, I am now inadvertently privy to everyone's deepest and darkest secrets, without even 'looking' for them. It's like everyone around me is having a full on conversation to me, yet not including me. Terrans in particular seem to have this two-faced type of personality, where they think something incredibly negative, and then respond to others verbally as if they had no issue with the subject at had - which I know to be false. And it's playing on me. I find myself confused with the motivations behind people I assumed I knew quite well, and I've had to stop myself from snapping at the smallest pressures, knowing for a fact that the support people provide me, while valid, they deep down and secretly believe to be unnecessary or of little value. And yet they stand here, unfazed by these thoughts, acting as if they have no problem whatsoever. It's terrifying.
Even Loupaz, my right hand and most trusted technician outside of Roshanara, has turned out to be harboring what I've had to deem as false opinions - downright nasty thoughts behind everyone's back, respectful opinion to their faces. Not once has she ever voiced a complaint to me, and yet I find myself questioning whether she is hiding her true feelings about working with me. This has never happened before - and I'm not understanding why it's occurring now.
I don't know what's happening to me. But I know that it is frightening, and . . . hard to explain to anyone but myself.
I can't wait to go home.}}

|LOG=Thanks to the headache-inducing mechanics of time travel and temporal anomalies, the crew of the Veritas were retrieved from the moon we called Limbo only to find that despite having experienced six months of time marooned on the surface, only a few hours had passed in the rest of the universe. Though Commander Delano's team was able to keep the ship from falling out of orbit, Veritas still required towing from the Colonial Coalition Marshals back to Star Station Esperance. For the fourteen crew members who did not return with us, a memorial service was held both on Limbo before we left and at the Starfleet Annex on Esperance. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
The majority of the remaining crew were transported from Limbo via civilian transports back to the star station and from there to their homeworlds. Given everything they've endured, I've granted shore leave for the entire crew, which given the extent of damage to Veritas, may last several months. Some may choose to transfer to other vessels before Veritas is able to return to service, but I hope most of them take the time that's been regained to spend it with their loved ones.}}

|LOG=While much of the crew has departed to get an early start on their extended shore leave, a skeleton crew including myself and Captain Rahman have seen Veritas through the final leg of our journey all the way back to the Sol system. It’s strange being back here after so long. Last time I was on Earth, I was considering withdrawing from Starfleet permanently. Now, I feel like a fish out of water. The Shoals feels more home to me than Earth or Vulcan ever did. But, I will be glad to catch up with the human half of my family. Strangely, a part of me is already feeling homesick.}}

|LOG=Since the damage suffered escaping Limbo, my primary duties have involved keeping the ship spaceworthy as we were towed from one dock to another for substantial repairs and refitting.  The entire primary deflector array will have to be replaced along with half the EPS grid and there are numerous subsystems that will require substantial inspection and re-certification before the ship can again be declared spaceworthy.  It breaks my heart to see the big girl getting towed around and the idea of turning her over to the yard teams at Utopia Planetia is making my eye twitch, but the fact of the matter is the ship has taken a huge amount of abuse recently and patching the damage just isn't realistic.  Most of the Engineering crew is taking much deserved leave while we're in the Sol system but I'll be staying aboard to oversee the repair work and to try, anywhere I can, to accelerate repairs so we can get back out there. There's a very old quote that has been rattling around my head the last few weeks and it seems appropriate to share here.
“A ship is safe in port, but that is not what ships are for.”}}

|LOG=After our almost forced new life on Limbo, the long break on Earth was nothing short of perfect.  It was great to spend some R&R time with my family and G’var.  It made me appreciate what I’ve got at home, how lucky I am to have the loving family I have – and having G’var with me reminded me how lucky I am to have the family I have on the Veritas.
About a week ago I told Captain Rahman that I was onboard early because I wanted to come back and be a starship engineer, like I get a second chance to start.  Standing with my Chief and my fellow engineers, it really does feel like my first day again – the difference being that I know that this time I’m surrounded by friends.  And having the Veritas temporarily so close to my home is special for me.  I’m sure I’m not the only one from the Sol system that feels the same way.
Even though I’ve already been here for a few weeks, I can sum up how I feel in a few simple words – “it’s good to be back starting again”.}}

|LOG=We’ve left Utopia Planitia and are underway back to a place that holds many memories for both myself and a number of this crew: the Menthar Corridor. Many of those memories are good ones: my first assignment as chief engineer of the Mercury and the wonders of discovery that we encountered mission after mission under Captain Kells and later Captain Egan Manno on the Garuda. Others, not so much: the cybernetic spiders of Deep Space 10, the protomatter cloud that gave rise to a botanic infestation on the Garuda, and of course the sabotage of that ship later by Harrison Ross in the midst of the volcanic mud dome crisis on Pleethion.
Regardless, going back to the Corridor this time feels less like a nostalgic trip to an earlier chapter of my life and more like coming back to a neighborhood you once lived in only to find the neighbors have changed—or left completely—and the condition of the place has deteriorated since your memories. Everything seems… colder.
For most of the junior officers aboard, this will be their first time to the Corridor and their first dive into deep space. Though it may not be known for the pirates, storms, and anomalies that give the Shoals its formidable reputation, the Corridor is no less dangerous. Though it is an exciting milestone in their careers, I hope they are spared an encounter with the terrors that still lurk out there among these ancient stars.}}

Captain's Log, Stardate 239312.06

This is the first entry of Captain Roshanara Rahman, assuming command of this vessel under the orders of Admiral sh'Hiel. It's always difficult to begin a new assignment with a new crew, whether captain or crewman. Even during the launch of a brand new vessel, there is an uneasy period where both captain and crew are still learning about each other and ultimately to trust one another.

But this is not a new vessel, and this is not a new crew. They have suffered a tremendous loss with the death of Captain Carrero, and I sympathize, having experienced similar anguish last year when the Invicta crew and I had been informed--incorrectly--that Fleet Captain Kells had been killed. We later were able to retrieve him from his captors, but the Veritas crew cannot look forward to such a development.

All I can do is help them find out who did this and why.

Captain's Log, stardate 239312.16

The ship's stores have been restocked and all personnel have been recalled from leave. With navigation putting our ETA to Shadow's Edge at just over three weeks, we cannot afford to wait any longer to begin our investigation. We are scheduled to depart Star Station Esperance later this morning at 0900 hours.

Captain's Log, stardate 239312.19

Thanks to the hard work of our stellar cartography and navigation personnel, we were able to chart a course that shaved off a few days from our journey to Shadow's Edge. We are now in orbit of the colony, and though the scene of the crime--as it were--is no longer still fresh, the colony officials have done their best to preserve the evidence.

I have assigned the following personnel to begin our investigation.

To interview Shadow's Edge Governor Theo Giannakos and other witnesses:

To perform an autopsy on Captain Carrero's body as preserved by the capital morgue and examine forensic evidence analysis collected at the scene:

To investigate how power was cut to the governor's residence, any clues to who did it and why, and what other data, if any, can be retrieved from the security monitoring equipment that was disabled:

Meanwhile, as we entered orbit, we detected a directed transmission at Veritas, seemingly an automated transmission triggered by our arrival.

Lt. Cmdr. Mei'konda, Operations Ofc., Lt. JG Elena Sands, Security Ofc., and Ens. Sofek, Science Officer, remain aboard to examine the transmission with me.

Operations’ Officer's Log, stardate 239312.19

The Veritas is a good ship. Though very different than what I’ve served on in the past, she is more purpose built, more specific in her task. Over the last twenty days, I’ve started to grow accustomed to my quarters and to operations on board this ship.

I don’t have an operations staff, as I have on my prior assignments. It’s been refreshing to be more hands on in my day to day, rather than assigning my subordinates to tasks and taking Bridge duty where I can.

I’m still nervous about Evan. We’ll be in orbit around Shadow’s Edge in one hour. All I can hope for now is that he’ll be in one piece, and have a good explanation for what’s been happening.

The Vulcan extremist known as Lenik has fled from Shadow's Edge along with his ship. Rather than pursue him, we've remained in orbit of Shadow's Edge to continue our investigation of Captain Carrero's death, along with the new developments that the away teams discovered.

Given his familiarity with the region and Lenik in particular, Agent Delano has been tasked to serve as a special advisor for the duration of this mission. I suspect he's grown an attachment to the Reya-Laialara, whom he had been assigned to observe, and that is what drives him to come back now to help us. Whether this will become a long-term arrangement or not remains to be seen.

Captain's Log, Stardate 239402.16

The captured pirate known as Sov has provided us crucial intelligence on how to track the vessels of the Kos’karii. We have forwarded the information to the Colonial Marshals, who have begun drafting plans to begin a major counteroffensive against the pirate faction. Veritas will likely be called to support the operation once put into action.

In the mean time, we returned to Shadow’s Edge, where our teams were successful in exposing the conspiracy within the Shadow’s Edge government, linking the proposed agreement with Steadfast Shipping to a long-running campaign of acts meant to terrorize and cause disarray that culminated in the attacks on the governor’s residence and the freighter Falcon. Shadow’s Edge security forces and the Colonial Marshals raided a warehouse that had been identified by our officers, arresting a number of individuals and confiscating jamming equipment and other evidence for prosecution.

We’re headed back to Star Station Esperance for some much-needed shore leave after the trauma this crew has faced with the loss of their captain. It seems Captain Carrero’s cruel fate was one of pure and unfortunate coincidence. She gave her life defending another, and we now are bringing her home from Shadow’s Edge so that she can finally be laid to rest.

We’ve retrieved our shuttle teams from Yorba Station, or at least what’s left of it. The station appears to have been struck by a large freighter, which has fused with a part of the remains. The teams only found one survivor, a Valtese smuggler named Kallo who has had previous run ins with the Colonial Marshals and Commander Blake.

Of concern now, however, is the whereabouts of Dr. Ryan and Agent Delano, who both disappeared during transport. Our best hope is that their signal may have somehow been diverted to the rogue M-class planet we have discovered in this pocket of calm within the Maelstrom. I’ve ordered the ship to head back towards the planet as we plan our next steps.

I have completed several scans of the cybernetic implant inside Lt. jg Danni James’ brain. All results indicate it is indeed repairing the damage as described in earlier logs. I have yet to determine the exact makeup and origin of the implant, as well as its full functionality. There are still so many unanswered questions. As a precaution, I have also ran several diagnostics to rule out the possibility of any outside manipulation or contact. So far, I haven’t found anything to indicate it poses a threat to either Lt. James or the ship. Following protocol, I have file a report with the Captain as well as forwarded all the test results I have collected thus far. Naturally, it will be up to her to decide what further non-medical actions to take. I will continue to monitor Lt. James until I am absolutely certain there are no lingering medical issues.

Antor II is a mess. Tragic earthquakes caused by subspace rifts have rocked the planet, leaving a portion of the planet's domes uninhabitable. This has resulted in overcrowding and has led to violence on the planet's surface. Two bombings have taken the lives of many and has left many more in serious condition. Teams are still searching through the rubble for survivors. I've been assigned to work with Commander Blair and Lieutenant Commander Walker, our task: to rebuild the domes that housed the planet's population. We've come to the conclusion that once temporary housing has been established, it would be more efficient to come up with a design that would better withstand any future natural disasters.

We were getting things set up in the mines when Commander Walker sent Commander Blair and I out to retrieve the antimatter from Commander Kelrod's team. Unfortunately, a cave-in occurred and effectively trapped both Lieutenant Thoran and Commander Walker behind a wall of rock. We have no idea of their status since something in the composition of the rock is blocking communicators. Working with Commander Kelrod's team, we've devised a plan to beam the rocks away a little at at time while establishing support beams along the way to prevent further cave-ins. In an attempt to establish some sort of communication, I've jury-rigged my communicator to send a morse code message on repeat using the chirps from the commbadge itself: S-T-A-N-D pause B-A-C-K. I had hoped that one of our missing colleagues would be able to use their communicator to respond in kind, but so far we haven't heard anything. With their already poor air supply decreasing, I'm afraid that if we don't act soon, we'll be recovering corpses instead.

As Governor Blackhurst was preparing to give her speech, the Veritas was attacked by Romulan and Cardassian ships. While this attack was underway, individuals who had been able to successfully bring aboard otherwise innocuous items constructed weapons. The facts of the situation indicate they were planning the onboard attack as both an attempt to rid the region of Starfleet interference, which they believed to be a threat to the stability of their world. Further evidence points to an attempt Governor Blackhurst's life because she supported Starfleet officers aiding the planet in it's distress. We were unable to apprehend the individual who claimed responsibility for the attacks on Antor II. He remains elusive and at large in the region. It’s been two days since we first arrived at Antor II, and though the fires have been put out, the recovery and response efforts to the disaster are far from over.

After the attack on her chief of staff, Governor Blackhurst has requested the use of Veritas as a more secure stage for a major speech outlining the Antor government’s plan moving forward as it relates to both rebuilding and the threat of Jilor and the Kos’karii.

However, mere hours before the governor’s scheduled speech, I was informed that another attack could be imminent, this time on Veritas itself. Fortunately, we seemed to have caught a lucky break.

While we may not have Jilor, we do have a number of his men. A small squadron of Colonial Coalition Marshal cutters have joined us to supplement Antor II’s defenses and confiscate the captured Kos’karii vessels. The pirates being treated in sickbay have been arrested and are likewise being transferred to the Marshals. While in the wake of such death and destruction, it may not seem like much, I can’t help but feel we have made significant steps towards capturing the pirate king himself and bringing him to justice.

Following the unexpected interruption, Governor Blackhurst was able to go on with her speech to Antor and the rest of the Colonial Coalition from Veritas. I’m not a political analyst, but it seemed the press and others in attendance were pleased with what she had to say.

For now, we remain in orbit of Antor, continuing to offer our assistance to its people and the governor’s staff. I have asked the Governor to join me before she returns to the surface.

Normally, that wouldn’t bother me, but Mei’konda’s been assigned to lead the opposing team. I haven’t had the chance to work much with Commander Kelrod, who will be leading my team, so I'm looking forward to getting to know him a little better. The last days have been... unique, to say the least. We've been to Antor II where the Klingon Jilor attacked the planet with a quantum torpedo, pressumably stolen and created a subspace tear within the planet, on the impact site. More surprisingly the tear didn't dissapear inmediately, but remained, threatening to grow and provoking a genocide. We've averted it and found a secret installation but before we could discover what's there, we found some mercenaries, including a Cardassian and we were forced to leave. But what make those last days really unique were a... incredible news. I've been dating Ensign Stiftani Harik, here and there, we shared some ... chemistry, she wasn't afraid of me, nor suspicious, just gentle, caring, ... we've had our passionate days, somehow she made me feel ... free, to be myself, made me feel important, on a personal level, no distrust, no doubts... she was like Raj, but being a woman. Oh my... when Raj finds out... he won't believe it.

The important fact is that ... oh, it's amazing,.... she told me that... I'm to be a FATHER! Me! Can you believe it? Oh, maybe you're listening to this. I still don't know if you're a boy or a girl, but I don't care. I was stunned, shocked, freezed, when she told me. I've reacted like a retard, I confess. But after ... how much it was... two hundred,... three hundred years bodyless, then merging with Marcus and seeing life through his eyes, seeing him with Vojana, I'd lost all hopes for something like this to happen to me. But,... here we are.... with me realizing that my hands shaked, my voice trembled, my legs melted... My father left my mother when I was so young, I never forgot nor forgiven him for that, even when he reached to me when I was coming of age. He didn't deserves me, my mother raised me alone, fell ill and finally died without having the chance to live a full life, I had to grow up quick, be strong, no time or money for good comodities or to enjoy summers together as we would have liked.

Because of this I've realized that I don't want you to doubt that I'll love you forever, I might become hard on some aspects with you, but it's only because I plan to be the father that I lacked. Forgive me for any mistake that I might make on the road that we'll walk together and I hope that someday, you'll be able to walk your own path and that you'll have the tools and the assurance that I love you and hope that you'll love me too. Anytime, anywhere, no matter what, no matter when, no matter why, I'll be your father and I'll be with you.

We've also been tasked to modify a second shuttle, the Prospero, so the Veritas will be even more versatile and we'll be engaging some trials in a few hours to check their performance in the Shoals. I'm confident with the Shadow as I've had the help of Luna, commander Walker, the Chief engineer of the Veritas. I've served with her for a few years on different ships and if she says something will work, I'll believe her. I'd like to recognize too Lieutenant Commander Delano and ensign Wolfe, a new science officer, that helped with the sensors and scientific approach of the shuttle. So, it seems that I'm settling in as the SAR leader, gaining confidence everyday, with every mission. Once I'm back from this trials I'll need to have a talk with the captain, I'd like to tell her that I'll be the father to Harik's child and that we intend to live together. I still have to talk and meet her parents, that'll come with time and I hope I'll be ready for it. It still amazes me that I could feel this way after more than a century of existance... But I've never been a father, so... I guess it's normal.

Aside from that personal feeling, I still find difficult to interact with some of the crew, they're specially,... ellusive, or just not interested in interpersonal relationship with my persona. I wonder if it's something natural on them but something tells me that they still don't feel comfortable with me as they still can see Marcus on me. Talking about that, he's also happy for the baby news, but is somehow hesitant to feel the full extent of joy, because in his mind he expects something to go wrong and be deceived again. I have to admit that part of those thoughts and feelings permeate me and I can't avoid it, but I'm eager to try to put them aside and be happy with Harik and the baby.

Just in case something happens I'd like to leave here that I love Frankie a lot and that despite that I still don't know you, I love you my child and I want you to grow happy and strong, be good with your mother and made us both proud of your accomplishments.

Furthermore, there is still the matter of our shuttle trials that have yet to be concluded.

We might not have gotten all the answers yet over these last few weeks, but we’re left with a number of substantial clues we’ve begun deciphering. And with the appearance of that Orion vessel, there is one thing I have no doubt about: this isn’t the last we’ve seen of the infamous Orion Syndicate. Engineering is still working to see if they can restore any of the damaged isolinear chips that we recovered from the Rockhound, and I’m hopeful that we’ll get something off of them. At first glance, the Captain’s log appears to be entirely routine, aside from a mention of sensor shadows picked up the day before their last log entry. Could this have been the Orion ship, shadowing them? If there are sensor records on those isolinear chips, maybe they’ll be able to tell.

Despite both my doubts and that of the Federation Archaeology Council, our initial analysis of the items recovered from Kallo Ver's vessel confirmed that they were genuine 23rd century Romulan artifacts. Of course, just because Mr. Ver had century old Romulan goods on his ship doesn't mean a whole treasure fleet is lying out there somewhere in the tetryon mist. I can think of a number of ways he might have come across them and even fewer of which are legal.

Still, if there really *is* a lost 23rd century Romulan treasure fleet in the Shoals, then Starfleet has seen fit for us to pursue this possibility. To assist us, we've also enlisted the aid of Dr. Timothy Alentonis, a professor from Esperance and a noted expert in both Romulan history and the history of the Shoals. His impressive resume notwithstanding, Dr. Alentonis has had somewhat of a rough adjustment to being aboard a starship, and I've asked that the crew do their best to make him feel welcome as we make our way towards this supposed hidden warbird that Mr. Ver discovered.

As easy as it would be to just use bits of the box for further study, I can only imagine that the Captain and Headquarters want it intact. This really leaves little option but to take a team down to the planet in hopes of finding enough of the element to continue investigating its properties as well as the possibility that we could create an isotope that is similar enough in composition to its parent while being easier to replicate.

Commander Kelrod's Log SD 239505.25

After an interesting away mission that started as an archaelogical one but turned out to be a place with interests from the Orion syndicate I’ve decided that from now on, anytime a SAR team member is to go with an away team, it’ll bring the phaser rifle, except in diplomatic missions or if stated directly by the Captain or the FO. The fact that we found ourselves against an armored shuttle only reinforces the feeling that the Shoals need a new way to do things from a Starfleet point of view. While not giving away our principles we need to remain alert, more than in other places of the quadrant as we can find surprises both, naturally occurring or by the inhabitants of the Shoals. That also taught me that we’ll need to modify a bit the SAR training program to include more scientific knowledge to deal with things like the type of radiation that we’ve found on this area, or the bombs that ruptured subspace on Antor II.

Repairs on the Veritas are progressing nicely, and we’ve brought the geological survey lab online full time while we map this previously unknown M class planet in the Shadows. I’m looking forward to spending some time planetside and exploring what this new world has to offer. In a few minutes, I have a meeting with Captain Rahman, and after that, we’ll be assembling teams to head to the surface.

I am finished with my part in the latest mission of the USS Veritas. For me, this was the first mission I have been on since joining Starfleet. I was glad to be able to serve on an away mission, unfortunately, my skill set did little for us during our time aboard the Romulan warbird. I may have overlooked details during my examinations that could have saved us time in our pursuits. While aboard we found the remains of a Romulan and Reman crew. My medical tricorder picked up feint, trace signs of a bacterial or viral infection. I was unable to determine the properties of the readings and failed to do a proper cross analysis of common viral and bacterial infections among the Romulans and Remans. I also failed to analyze the effects the radiation in this area of space could have had on these bacteria and virus. I believe I could have preformed better and I intend to take action on the lessons I have learned from this experience.

Personal Log 1.1 -- T'Katt Dugoras, Ships counselor, first entry. (SD 239505.27)

I'm intrigued by the use of a counselor on an away mission by the captain. Sure it's not entirely unusual as one would expect the counselor to have knowledge of the region and species relevant to the mission that could certainly be useful while exploring crew logs. But I had no such knowledge... my knowledge of the Romulans was common and mediocre at best, in addition, I allowed myself to possibly overlook simple details and in turn, I offered flawed advise and explanations while on this mission. I find myself perplexed by my actions during this event. It was as though I had just blindly walked through that ship without a thought. I think that my self-doubt and my constant zoning out is becoming a problem. I lose reality in my thoughts and tune out the world around me, this cannot happen anymore it will undoubtedly cause problems for the rest of the crew. As for my insecurity, I believe it's time for me to consult another mind on the matter. It's funny a doctor and a counselor and I cannot seem to help myself...

Commander Mei’konda and I will be departing from Veritas shortly to attend the annual Admirals’ Banquet. This year’s event is being held on Starbase 11. It’s going to be a tight schedule, but once he and I get to Esperance, we’ll be able to secure transport on a slipstream transport back towards the Federation core.

But first, I’ve assembled the crew in the auditorium to give special recognition of their efforts this last mission. And to start, we’ll begin with a very personal recognition…

The Omega Paradox

Acting Captain’s Log. Stardate 239507.05

After sixteen days at warp, we’ve successfully rendezvoused with the Ohanze vessel just outside the Shahrazad system. The Oracle, the Ohanze representative, and Lieutenant Commander Raissa Moonsong have been welcomed aboard as we prepare for the final stretch of our journey. While we’ve received a few more details from our guest, the exact nature of the Borg threat remains a mystery. Lieutenant Commander Blake, and Commanders Kelrod and Blair have been leading the crew in a series of battle drills and simulations over the last two weeks, and the entire crew - including Ensign Mei’konda and Lieutenant Commander Rahman - have been working tirelessly to ensure the ship is as prepared as it can be for any confrontation.

The prospect of facing the Borg is direct conflict something most cadets have nightmares about at some point during their tenure at Starfleet Academy. They’ve been responsible for some of the greatest losses of life in the history of the Federation, and their ruthless desire to eliminate individuality seems anathema to everything our culture, and Starfleet's mission stands for. I never imagined I’d be coming face-to-face with them during my first mission in command of a starship; nevertheless, I have every confidence in this crew and this ship.

While I’d heard stories about the Borg, I’d never actually encountered them...until now. We managed to come out of the battle with the ship still intact, but it’s badly in need of repairs. Decks 8 through 10 took some heavy damage and will likely be the primary focus of our efforts. Teams are working around the clock to get crucial systems fully functional. I’ll be sitting down with Acting Captain Delano later this morning to discuss the status of the ship among other things.

Acting Captain’s Log. Supplemental. Stardate 239507.04

It was a near thing, but the Borg vessel we encountered in the Shahrazad System has been destroyed. Unfortunately, it appears that whatever it was doing here triggered some kind of temporal event. We’re now almost 600 years in the past. This previously dead solar system, is now buzzing with Ohanze activity. I’ve enlisted the aid of The Oracle to help us plan for retrieving the Borg technology that brought us here - both to preserve the timeline, and as an essential step in getting us home. I’m now meeting with our chief engineer in hopes of getting a handle on our… other problems.

Recent events with the Borg ship have landed us 600 years in the past. With Lieutenant Commander Rahman temporarily needed elsewhere, myself and the rest of the Engineering team are working on getting power restored and repairing the damage to the most critical systems first. As I told Acting Captain Delano, I believe this should take about three days barring any material shortages or other interruptions. I was reassured that we should have the materials we need, so here’s hoping we don’t run into any pirates or anyone looking to take these spare parts off our hands.

Acting Captain’s Log, 239507.07. Encrypted Entry.

I’ve spent the last three hours pouring over the special datafile created by our computer that’s meant to brief us on this threat. Frankly, I’m bothered by the language in this “Omega Directive,” which effectively sets aside the core mission and values of Starfleet. The fact that any action we take could disrupt the timeline also weighs heavily on my thoughts. And yet, the devastation Omega can cause if left unchecked makes it clear that we simply don’t have time to consider the ethical and philosophical questions of what needs to be done here. Worse, if the Borg have designs on assimilating Omega, we have no choice but to stop them, whatever the cost.

The Borg device we recovered from the Ohanze planet has proven to be more complex than we anticipated. Nevertheless, thanks to the stellar work of our engineering and science teams, and a bit of assistance from the liberated Borg Drone, we were able to modify it to work with our systems. We’ve returned to our rightful time - albeit, a few weeks later than when we left. I’ve sent messages to Starfleet to report on our situation, including encrypted mission logs regarding the classified aspects of our mission. I’ve also requested a rendezvous with an Ohanze vessel so that The Oracle will be able to return to her people. While we wait for responses, we’ve returned to the coordinates of the temporal anomaly from which we recovered the Mercury shuttle containing Ensign Mei'konda and Lieutenant Commander Rahman. Using the Borg technology, which we believe may have triggered the anomaly in the first place, we believe we have a way to send them home.

Though I wasn’t here for much of what transpired during the crew’s last mission, and as tempting as it is to skip the awards ceremony tonight, I feel a certain obligation to attend regardless, if not to support my friends and colleagues...to acknowledge their efforts. What’s making me the most reluctant to attend is Alex. There’s a good chance that the Captain will be formally announcing his transfer tonight.

Though I support him and anything that will make him happy, it also saddens me to see him go. He’s been an amazing friend to me these past months and has been an ear when I’ve needed it. With Chythar taking a neutral stance on my relationship with Jon, Alex’s honesty and perspective has been helpful. I’m going to miss him, but I have faith that we’ll serve together again someday.

Transfers are a way of life in Starfleet. I understand that and have more or less come to grips with it. We got lucky when our transfers to the Za coincided within a week of each other. We were luckier still when all 3 of us transferred us to the Veritas after the recall of the former. Now, many months later, Alex is being offered a chance at being the first officer of another vessel, far away from me.

It saddens me greatly to see him go, but it's a fantastic opportunity. I have faith we will be reunited on the bridge of his own command. I do not presume to know the lord's will. I believe, which I hope is enough to influence Him to favor us.

We have arrived at Havley's Hope. One of the seven Colonial Coalition worlds, Havley has grown from its humble mining outpost origins to become a center of heavy industry and ore refinement in the region, home to 167 million. With all of the repairs from the Veritas’ encounter with the Borg at last complete, we can focus on the situation at hand. Captain Rahman has called for a briefing, which I assume is related to our next mission. Given that we are headed toward Havley’s Hope and the Captain hasn’t seen fit to alter our course, I suspect that we are needed at the mining colony. I’m curious as to why they would request assistance from a Starfleet vessel given how independent the people of the Shoals are and how much some seem to resent Starfleet interfering with their affairs.

With Lt. Commander Rosek’s team safely recovered, we can all breathe a sigh of relief. From their initial report, the commander’s team encountered another faction of the same indigenous species that Commander Mei’konda’s team met, but the far more hostile response — in fact outright aggression — by abducting the team and likely the other miners — does concern me greatly.

Still, I believe Commander Mei’konda is right that the meeting with Tk’ton is worthwhile. We don’t know enough about this species to understand their society and culture and what if any relation these factions have with one another. God willing, our diplomatic tact will be what prevents any further bloodshed or escalation.

Medical Officer’s Log, Stardate 239510.13

It’s been stressful, especially with Lieutenant Commander Rosek’s away team going missing and presumed dead. However, thankfully, the team has returned safely and with relatively minor injuries. Any day where intensive surgery isn’t needed is always a good one. I’ve managed to repair Commander Rosek’s torn ligaments with a non-invasive surgery and I’m pleased to say that she should heal nicely.

Ensign Galven’s injuries, which from my understanding were obtained in a cave-in down in the mines, were also relatively minor. Time should heal these wounds, though I wonder about the lasting psychological and emotional scars that his experience will leave. I’m no psychologist, but he was projecting rather strongly a mixture of confusing feelings that I estimate will take longer to heal than his physical wounds.

I’ve made a note for Counselor Dugoras to check in with Ensign Galven once the mission has concluded. If necessary, I’ll make a strong recommendation to the Captain regarding a mandatory assessment of all members of the away team, Mr. Galven included.

Only one member of the away team remains and I get the feeling he’s not going to be overly cooperative. Doctors do, after all, make the worst patients.

With Tk’ton’s help, we have been able to locate the remaining miners that weren’t being held by Starit Proz. Unfortunately, not all of them survived their encounter with the Queen, but I hope this offers some closure to their families. Our science and engineering teams have already begun helping Tk’ton’s people with some of their resource needs, and the Havley Mining Corporation has closed off the mining sites that intrude onto the lands of the indigenous population. There will be an economic impact, no doubt, but doing what’s right will have to be the new cost of doing business.

Just finished my first mission and it wasn’t at all what I expected. I’ve learned a lot just from it, but one thing I know for sure is that I need to be a better Starfleet Officer. I know that I can be, I just need to get my head in the right place.

It was a huge failure on my part. I didn’t do much of anything in the mines like I was assigned to do. I was given this strange device by Ms. Lyn and it led to my team’s distrust in me and aggravation between my superior officer and me. My feelings over Lt. Commander Rosek both professionally and personally set me up to fail. I used her empath abilities against her and it didn’t get much better when a cave-in happened and I got seriously injured. The way we looked at each other though... Thankfully...at least...my team was there to help me recover once we were held captive. Which I believe I was a further burden and annoyance especially with Doctor Skyfire. However, I managed to help in some way with us getting back to the Veritas.

To make matters worse, after we were rescued and my injuries were treated in Sickbay, I was sent to report to the Bridge. Due to what happened in the cell, I wasn’t ready mentally and I screwed over myself by acting out verbally. I should’ve known about the thoron field under the facility due to a Deep Space facility incident that made the crew have imaginations of holograms thinking they were real among other things. I let my experience with these creatures create a xenophobic nature which led to my distraction from studies over subspace anomalies. Thank God there wasn’t any subspace ruptures before Commander Delano found the thoron field. Also flirting with Lt. Commander DeVeau didn’t do much help either, but when she had my back over my assessment thinking the creatures could travel between universes lifted my spirits up a bit. Making a temporal sensor seems like an awful great idea right about now.

I know that I have what it takes to be amazing in my field, but if I continue letting my emotions play out...I doubt I’ll have a career any much longer.

While in the cell when Lt. Commander Rosek was sent away to talk with the Queen, Doctor Skyfire used my device’s components along with the pieces of his phaser to figure out a way to connect them to his EARS device to make a signal back to the ship. With my knowledge in chemical thermodynamics, I came up with an idea that would help boost the signal. I asked Crewman Shandres if she’d be able to make modifications to the phaser rifle with the components to connect to the doctor’s EARS device. As the Lt. Commander came back struggling to get back up from a physical side effect from the darts the creatures used on us, I made it a priority to hurry our efforts. When our superior officer came to; she told me, Doctor Skyfire, and Lt. Commander Moonsong to keep the transmitter running as the creatures came in on us. With everyone’s team efforts on the transmitter and Crewman Shandres, Ensign Valoru, and Lt. Commander Rosek fighting the creatures away, we were able to get back on the ship.

Havley’s Hope prosecutors tell me that the future is not looking so bright for Starit Proz. With twenty seven Orion slaves hidden in the mining corporation’s lower levels - slaves who did not sell themselves into slavery, since you never know with the Orion Syndicate - it appears he has violated quite a few local and Federation laws.

Commander del Vedova has contacted the diplomatic corps and let them know of our situation with Tk’ton’s people, here. Just like most races, not all of them are friendly, and the contact between us and them is unfortunate. Now, the Prime Directive dictates that we interfere as little as possible in their development. Shore leave has been approved for the crew, though I don’t know that many are going to want to take it, given the weather.

The crew’s performance has been exemplary, particularly those who were captured briefly by the less… friendly members of this alien race. I’ll be noting commendations in the crew evaluations for several of them. End log.

My first mission was a wild, scary, exciting, exhausting and all together invigorating introduction to my life in Starfleet, I'm just glad it wasn't also the end to it. It's amazing working with these seasoned spacers and scientists, many of whom have years of experience on me with even more mind-blowing situations. I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the crew now that things have calmed down and hope I can get my feet under me a bit now that the immediate crisis has been resolved. Over the next few days I intend to check in with the CMO, a Doctor named Skyfire whose unique bionetic implant helped save the lives of the away team, and the ships Counselor, a fellow named Dugoras. I'll also need to finally meet my department head, Chief Rosek, and find out just how much trouble I'm going to get in for hot-wiring her ship to within an meter of melting. Maybe I should replicate some donuts? I wonder if she has recovered completely, she looked pretty beat up after that away mission. Actually, that gives me an idea of the order I should do things in. It's taken days to find the fault someone worked into our power systems and I'm still not sure how they pulled it off. If we hadn't found it, most of the forward EPS grid would've overloaded catastrophically and the ship would've been destroyed. We've finished repairing the sabotage and are bringing the tactical systems back online in a few minutes, after which I hope to give some of the Engineering crew some off time. We've all been living on caffeine and ration bars and that kind of effort, while commendable, breeds errors if it goes on too long. I never realized just how much personnel management someone like the Chief has to do. I might even need to go into the office and start filling out some of the crew evaluation forms soon. I think I'll just give everybody a promotion and call it a day.

The Team and I have had little rest. We have been working through the alpha shift for their training time. Commander Kelrod's expectations are that we get all crew through the holodecks for close quarters as well as ship to ship combat.

Tholians are an unknown when it comes to hand to hand combat, Starfleet's own records are limited. It seems the Tholians don't board ships, so much as capture in them in their webs and flood them with radiation, eliminating the Crew and any need for close quarters combat. Chief Endilev and I have been working with the Medical and Engineering crewmen on techniques for self defense, while Crewmen Bicondova and Welling have been running ship to ship and spatial combat drills. My Team has worked tirelessly and without complaint, each deserves commendation for their work in preparing their shipmates for any coming battles with the Tholians.

I was also able to capture three Syndicate Members, whom Dr Alora is treating us Sickbay now.

Meanwhile I have returned to Ensign Alken and mine's quarters for a shower and change of uniform. While apprehending the Three Pirates I sustained injury. Thanks to the Medical staff in sick bay along with the aid of Commander Del Vedova my wound has been stabilized and healed. Captain's Log, Week 8

Has it really been eight weeks? It feels both too much time and yet not enough to account for everything we’ve accomplished thus far. We’ve managed to locate the rest of the crew, and thankfully, our casualties were light.

Teller, Ukinix, and the other engineers have managed to construct a "town" using the escape pods and shuttles the crew brought down with them. Unfortunately, all of them aren’t in any condition to fly, the same phenomenon that had depleted Veritas of all its fuel having done the same to the collection of small craft now on the surface.

Veritas herself is presumed lost. She'd have long burned up in the atmosphere by now. If we could somehow venture out to explore more of the moon, we might discover if a large part of the wreck has touched down on the surface. There might be more salvageable components.

Security/Tactical Officer G'var's Log, Planet Limbo, Week 8

Eight weeks and no rescue, the "day" on Limbo seems to never end.

The CHENG has been busy improving our makeshift Camp, He even promised us that any day now the New Risa Resort and Spa would have a functioning hot tub. He had several of my Teams looking for Metals for who knows what. He has threatened to conscript me as the Camp Blacksmith. I guess I shouldn't have made a forge. IA has thankfully been keeping out of trouble, her pheromone suppressant has long run out, but she has been good to her word and not used them. She and the Nausicaans have setup a Cantina on the Beach. The Golden Monkey, so named after one of the small simians that inhabit the local jungle. How they were able to brew alcohol is beyond me, but the Crew seem appreciative and enjoy having the Cantina.

Our team is low on any sort of technology other than a few tricorders and my - I mean, an engineering supplied, and now dead PADD. Which makes this log entry interesting, because talking into a palm leaf also makes this log entry redundant - but I do find it somewhat therapeutic.

I’ve long since given up trying to keep track of the stardate.

First Officer Evan Delano will be leading the team going to Veritas, which includes: -Lieutenant JG Geoffrey Teller, chief engineer -Jhalib Ekal, our guest from the 25th century -Ensign Kree'Ahk, science officer -Commander Kelrod, SAR team leader -Fleet Captain Aron Kells, who will be contributing his scientific expertise to the team

On the surface, Lt. Commander Tristam Core has been supervising the completion of the surface relay with the assistance of Lt. Commander Raissa Moonsong, science officer.

Meanwhile, a small search party consisting of -Lieutenant G’var, security officer -Ensign Wil Ukinix, engineering officer -Doctor Cole Maxwell, medical officer -Crewman Bicondova

have gone to find the personnel who still remain unaccounted for since we first sought refuge on Limbo. Among the missing include -Lt. Engineering Officer’s Log, Day 119

After 7 days of mostly rain and not much else, we’ve discovered another escape pod. Unlike the last pod, it has no power, and there were no bodies inside – one or more people have survived and long ago taken any supplies that were in it. We did somehow though manage to find a working PADD in the pod that may have been missed, which means we’re now able to make proper log entries – uh, long story.

Lieutenant G’var has found some tracks nearby, which could be a promising sign that there could be more of our crewmates from the Veritas close to us. She’s said the tracks were “interesting” and had some concerns, but other than the snake Sky encountered, there’s been nothing overly dangerous or predatory that we’ve found near the New Risa. So, I don’t hold the same worry.

Security Officer Log, Day 119

It's been almost Two weeks since we left New Risa, Captain Kells was recalled back to Camp on day 4 of our Expedition, since then it's been Ensign Unkinix, Doctor Maxwell, and Crewman Bicondova and Myself.

We awoke this morning to a please let surprise, the deluge had finally stopped falling and we were greeted by clear skies for the first time in a week. By Kahless, even I have to admit it's good to see the sun, and finally dry out. A damp Klingon is not a happy Klingon. Wil's mood has finally brightened, I could hear him singing to himself as he went about is morning abulations. Crewman Bicondova even located one of those wonderful citrus bushes, fresh fruit for breakfast was a welcome change from Federation Emergency Rations. My Hope is that we can reach the signal we detected by mid-morning, by Kahless we get there together.

Medical Officer’s Personal Log - Day 119

The rain has finally stopped. I was getting really sick of the nearly constant downpour. It made our trek slow as hell. Thankfully the respite came near our latest find… another abandoned Veritas escape pod. This one, thankfully, was devoid of dead bodies. Not so thankfully, this one has been robbed of just about anything useful. Ensign Ukinix is currently doing his engineering thing and ripping out anything that could at least potentially be of use. G’var seems to think we can pick up the trail of whomever was in this pod and follow it to find… whatever the hell we’re out here looking for. At this point I’d settle for one person alive and somewhat well so we can start heading back to the Camp. Have I mentioned I’m sick of this moon, sick of this jungle, and sick of this extended nature hike? Ugh… end log entry.

It has been more than two weeks worth of planning and work.

Our main concern now is the construction of the relay we will need to make this plan work. Captain Rahman and Lt. Commander Core are going to be the primaries behind that. Almost enough to make me wish I were an engineer to be more helpful. Almost.

Counselor’s Log

Crew morale remains mostly high especially given the announcement that we are working toward making it back to the Veritas. The crew has divided up to better accomplish those goals with Doctor Maxwell taking a group to check on some odd sensor readings which we hope may be more of our crew. Commander Delano has managed to teleport to the Veritas in orbit, in the past if that makes much sense. Meanwhile most of the rest of us are doing what we can to try and complete a surface relay that will allow the rest of us to follow along once the ‘time bubble’ is taken care of by the shipside team. Hopefully it will work out...and soon.

Personal log, stardate 239601.19.

After months stagnating on planet Limbo, we are finally putting together a plan to go home.

I can't wait to go home.

Captain's Log, Supplemental

Thanks to the headache-inducing mechanics of time travel and temporal anomalies, the crew of the Veritas were retrieved from the moon we called Limbo only to find that despite having experienced six months of time marooned on the surface, only a few hours had passed in the rest of the universe.

The majority of the remaining crew were transported from Limbo via civilian transports back to the star station and from there to their homeworlds. Given everything they've endured, I've granted shore leave for the entire crew, which given the extent of damage to Veritas, may last several months. Some may choose to transfer to other vessels before Veritas is able to return to service, but I hope most of them take the time that's been regained to spend it with their loved ones.

While much of the crew has departed to get an early start on their extended shore leave, a skeleton crew including myself and Captain Rahman have seen Veritas through the final leg of our journey all the way back to the Sol system. It’s strange being back here after so long. Last time I was on Earth, I was considering withdrawing from Starfleet permanently. Now, I feel like a fish out of water. The Shoals feels more home to me than Earth or Vulcan ever did. But, I will be glad to catch up with the human half of my family. Strangely, a part of me is already feeling homesick.

Chief Engineers Log, Lt. JG Geoffrey Teller. Stardate 239601.13 //

Since the damage suffered escaping Limbo, my primary duties have involved keeping the ship spaceworthy as we were towed from one dock to another for substantial repairs and refitting.

“A ship is safe in port, but that is not what ships are for.”

After our almost forced new life on Limbo, the long break on Earth was nothing short of perfect.

Even though I’ve already been here for a few weeks, I can sum up how I feel in a few simple words – “it’s good to be back starting again”.

Captain’s Log, Stardate 239603.06

We’ve left Utopia Planitia and are underway back to a place that holds many memories for both myself and a number of this crew: the Menthar Corridor.

For most of the junior officers aboard, this will be their first time to the Corridor and their first dive into deep space. Though it may not be known for the pirates, storms, and anomalies that give the Shoals its formidable reputation, the Corridor is no less dangerous. Though it is an exciting milestone in their careers, I hope they are spared an encounter with the terrors that still lurk out there among these ancient stars.
