Gallery feature

Take a look at this. Feel free to use it on the Ronin crew page if you want. It's an easier way to maintain a gallery. More info at Wikipedia:Gallery tag, and Wikipedia:Extended image syntax. --Wolf /talk page 01:17, 2 June 2007 (CDT)

Salak Professional History

They should indeed, good spot! Thanks :) - Lt.JG SalakTalk 12:36, 25 September 2007 (CDT)

Sya-Negan

Oh and I might as well add this here - you fancy writing the fluff for these fellas? I've created the page & links form the Ithassa Region, just need the details on it. If you don't fancy it I'll see what I can do, I've still got the original descriptive email from Cara so I can fiddle away. cheers Hutch 19:41, 2 October 2007 (CDT)

Jared

Where's your brother? Not making an npc entry for him? Hutch 12:36, 17 October 2007 (CDT)

Pips & Other Random Stuff

Curious why we need some of them... Gold Captain for example, as chances of a Captain being only CEO are quite low I'd've thought? Loved the comment on Dannys talk page, you might want to go other the rest of thwe crew too, dunno. I've been pondering how to update Adairs cos hers is the same issue, still has her on the first Indy. Bens might too, can't recall. Oh, and the comment at the top of the Ronin Shoreleave logs page had me in hysterics :D - Lt.JG SalakTalk 06:39, 5 December 2007 (CST)

I like it. Not sure myself bout civies, put comment on talk page asking if you might want me to remove my ones actually. Not sure if Intel should be with security but not sure where else to put it. Also, there're two cases of rank being listed in the name section still, in addition to in the main rank column. - Lt.JG SalakTalk 09:10, 5 December 2007 (CST)

Ronin Master Crew Roster

Just wondering why the sub-headers are deemed needed given each table just repeats them immediately afterwards. I won't remove at the sec given that it'll dramatically change the ToC but thought I should ask. - Lt.JG SalakTalk 18:31, 16 December 2007 (CST)

Help with Spamming?

Jack - I've noticed you're on the wiki a lot, and seem to know your way around. Would you be interested in Admin status to help clean-up spam? --Wolf /talk page 13:38, 22 June 2009 (EDT)

Image Resizing

Always considerate! But if you need a somewhat larger image, you do have room to play with. ;) DCody 03:51, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

Minor edits

Hey mate, hope your days going okay! I'm just wondering why (and a bit concerned that) you've marked just about every edit you've made over the last week or so as "minor"? ♣ Deliera talk 21:59, 24 July 2014 (CDT)

Minor edits should be;
  • Correcting a spelling/grammar mistake
  • Resizing an image
  • Correcting a name/file destination/category
If it's not one of the above, it's not normally a minor edit. :) ♣ Deliera talk 23:00, 25 July 2014 (CDT)

Be sure also to check your user preferences, specifically under editing preferences. You may have it set to mark all your edits as minor by default. This unfortunately though makes it difficult for admins and the wiki ops team to monitor changes on the wiki accurately. ◄ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman ♫ 04:19, 26 July 2014 (CDT)

double major

Nothing special for now. For Karynn, I just put in a line break

|Major= Science - Chemistry<br>Counseling

N/A for minor if none. ◄ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman ♫ 18:41, 29 July 2014 (CDT)

existing course numbers

Hi Jack! I love the courses and departments you're adding! However, please be aware if you change the course numbers of existing courses, you are causing other simmers' transcripts to now have their course numbers no longer match up with the course catalog. ◄ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman ♫ 16:35, 31 July 2014 (CDT)

Also, HIST120: Vulcan History appears to cover the same ground as the three Xenology courses:
  • XEN120: Introduction to Vulcans
  • XEN220: Early Vulcan history through the atomic age
  • XEN320: Vulcan History from the Atomic Age through the Modern Era
Perhaps if it were tailored to a more specific part of Vulcan history, such as just during the Reawakening? ◄ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman ♫ 01:58, 1 August 2014 (CDT)

Your PNPC

Hi!

Thanks for your message. I am really surprise by this and I went through the edits to find out what I did because I honestly don't remember messing with a PNPC. My guess is that it is because I was still relatively new to the fleet by the time of the first edit and somebody probably listed your PNPC on the Thunder's NPC roster and so I converted it over to that. The only changes I see is that I changed it from Endevour to the Thunder-A and then added the new wiki trimmings to the character.

First of all, I apologize. I honestly do not see how I made such a mistake, but it's there in the logs. She's all yours and glad you found her. I know she was never simmed on the Embassy as the name is not familiar to me.

Again, apologies for that. She was taken good care of though. :) Nugra (talk) 08:02, 5 August 2014 (CDT)

Hey! Glad everything worked out. I have been racking my brain and I can't remember why she would have been demoted except maybe I was matching it to what somebody else put when she was inadvertently transferred. So, all good! Nugra (talk) 20:38, 8 August 2014 (CDT)

file vs Image

Hi Jack, please do not change file to image. The correct usage is file as that is the actual name of the file pages. Image is a legacy option included for convenience but is again not the actual name of those pages. ◄ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman ♫ 15:15, 6 August 2014 (CDT)

pip templates

Hello again! I have reverted some of the edits you made to the previous pip templates that removed the float right markup. That is not a div redundancy; without that, the DS9 pips do not display properly in template:sidebar as a collar. You can see what I mean here: Template:Pips2Collar. Note how Default pips no longer close properly as DS9 does after the revert. ◄ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman ♫ 09:36, 7 August 2014 (CDT)

Wiki system templates

No worries! I think your new template is pretty cool, and I am a full proponent of people being bold in trying new things on the wiki. I also despise the unhealthy attitude of taking ownership of parts of the wiki. With that said, could I ask that if you do change any of the Wiki system templates that you leave a message letting me know. I would not have caught the pip changes unless I had been on the recent changes page at that moment for instance and the error may have been left undiscovered for longer. ◄ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman ♫ 09:46, 7 August 2014 (CDT)

One possible solution you could try is creating another template that will place the pip in its own table. Then have your sidebar incorporate that template. ◄ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman ♫ 09:56, 7 August 2014 (CDT)
Sure. And, thanks I'll try that, since trying to place the table directly in my code doesn't seem to be working... -Kit Kizito (talk) 09:57, 7 August 2014 (CDT)
I created it for you: Template:Pip120Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman ♫ 10:01, 7 August 2014 (CDT)
Just use Pip120 where you previously used Pips
Awesome, thanks... just has a background color issue (can we make that opaque?) and the Future Imperfect pips need to be centered, but I'll just add centering to Pip120.
The bg was set to black because ds9 pips are shorter than default so making them black makes them look equal. since you don't want black for FI, you could enhance Pip120 to recognize when the pip style has been set to FI using the if command and having it not have a background when FI is specified by the user. ditto for centering. Also, you need to leave replies on the other users page or else they will not see them unfortunately because the wiki message system is dumb. ◄ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman ♫ 10:10, 7 August 2014 (CDT)
Never mind, looks like you found a more elegant solution. :) ◄ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman ♫ 10:14, 7 August 2014 (CDT)
Ignore my rollback, My fingers were clumsy on the iPad...◄ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman ♫ 10:16, 7 August 2014 (CDT)
I just realized I was dumb though and told you to use if. you should use switch instead and then define what to do if variable 3 is FI vs DS9 by having FI = whatever and DS9 equal whatever. See the ribbon names template for an example of how to use switch. ◄ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman ♫ 10:33, 7 August 2014 (CDT)

Template:KolkFI & Template:LCARS-Sidebar

Just had a question regarding the Template:KolkFI and Template:LCARS-Sidebar: I noticed how the Template:Sidebar Rich created has the following variables:

|SPECIES = Human
|GENDER = Male
|BIRTHMONTH = 01
|BIRTHDATE = 17
|BIRTHYEAR = 2360
|BIRTHPLACE = Colony 1, Martian Colonies

Guess I'm curious if these were intentionally left out because they don't go with the design or if they could be incorporated into the template. Chythar Daniel Skyfire (talk) 16:41, 7 August 2014 (CDT)

Not sure you broke it on the LCARS template, but there's a thingie that says #switch-DS9 if it is viewed in preview mode. Not sure that's intentional, but I thought I'd try to help. Chythar Daniel Skyfire (talk) 00:13, 10 August 2014 (CDT)

Template:SIMNav

What if your sims aren't in chronological order? Does it just start at the top? And does the template apply to all sims in the archive without needing to be put on the bottom of each page? Chythar Daniel Skyfire (talk) 01:25, 8 August 2014 (CDT)

Question, can the Rank line be changed on the individual sim pages to reflect changes in rank throughout the career? Chythar Daniel Skyfire (talk) 21:10, 9 August 2014 (CDT)
Next question: If you have a link to a sim that is on an external site like sims.starbase118.net or google groups, is it possible to link that as well, or would the sim have to be put in the wiki? Chythar Daniel Skyfire (talk) 01:03, 10 August 2014 (CDT)

Coloured links

In order to get a coloured link;

[[Main Page (link page)|<font color="yellow(colour)">Main Page (whatever you want to call it)</font color>]]

Main Page

I'm not sure why we're required to do that - it's just a thing the wiki can't seem to do by itself. Hope it helped! :D ♣ Deliera talk Vice Chief of Wiki Ops 17:43, 18 August 2014 (CDT)

Upgrade issues with TOC class

Please see the message I left with Jordan regarding the latest update to the wiki causing issues with those using class=toc in their tables. In most cases, we should be able to just substitute toc with infobox to restore the old look. ♫ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman, Chief of Wiki Operations 18:58, 31 August 2014 (CDT)

Serial numbers

Hey Kolk. :) I was just looking at the edit you made to the serial numbers we have for our characters, and I couldn't help but think how it'd be unlikely both James and Jackford would get the same number. Jackford started as an Ensign in 2384, and James became a probationary Ensign at 2389 . . . The point of the serial numbers is to identify an individual, thus are all unique, so wouldn't these two characters have different numbers? :-| ♣ Deliera talk Vice Chief of Wiki Ops 17:36, 10 September 2014 (CDT)

Saw you added a logo for the Vera Cruz. You can have the logo template incorporate your new logo by editing Template:Logopicker so that it will then show up wherever Template:Logo is used, including other templates that incorporate Template:Logo. ♫ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr.
