The USS Khitomer is a New Orleans class under the command of Captain.

Originially launched in 2385, the Khitomer has since received several major refits the last of which was completed just prior to her being returned to service under Captain Randal Shayne. Aside from core system upgrades that bring the ship into compliance with modern Starfleet vessels, the ship has also received all necessary upgrades to support a Quantum Slipstream Drive, including relevant hull reinforcement and shield geometry changes to make Slipstream flight survivable without major structural failure. Despite this, due to the inconvenient shape of the New Orleans Class hull profile, use of the QSD is limited so as to prevent excessive shearing force and slipstream destabilization.
