Task Force Challenger deploys and is employed as an integrated element to the USS Challenger serving as an expeditionary force ready to act in any crisis providing a combat role as well as a service and support role to any environment.

Task Force Command Element

Task Force Command and Control (C2) will be filled by the leadership of the 24th Marine Corps Regiment, Deep Space 24. When the USS Challenger is on a float, a rear detachment command element will be established to command the 24th MC Regiment at DS-24.

Task Force Task Organization

Task Force elements will consist of components of the 24th Marine Corps Regiment, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Corps Air Space Wing (Attack) and the 2nd Marine Corps Air Space Wing (Support). Requirements from these units to fill the Task Force will run on a rotation basis.
