In the year 2392 a shell of the Miranda Class ship was found in the Sandbox near the Til'ahn and the ship was returned to Starfleet. Rear Admiral Toni Turner assigned ship to Captain Samal Ezra Frazier to renovate it and give it a new life as an escort to USS Thunder-A
