CommunicationsThe tricorder has an in built Subspace Transceiver Assembly (STA) for the transfer of data to other devices. The tricorder also houses a default RF (Radio Frequency) transmitter, in case the STA is inactive or damaged. The transmission range of the STA is 40,000 kilometres.
