Shortly after discovering the betrayal of Ambassador Sheridan to the Sons of Khaless, Kodiak is contacted by Rear Admiral Kelly of the USS Ranger. The Ranger in a recent confrontation with the Sons had discovered they were building a private fleet of warships based on the Defiant design. The Admiral orders a strike against their secret base. The attack is short and brutal resulting in the destruction of the Son's of Khaless, the capture of Ambassador Sheridan, and severe damage to both Starfleet vessels. The Dauntless class and Nebula Class vessels return to SB118 for repair.
