Engineering officer Log, Stardate 240201.02

Lieutenant Shimisi reporting events of relevance during the mission of rescuing the Enterprise 1701 and its crew from the nebula that ended up with the aprehension of some Iotians impersonating Starfleet officers and having made a replica of a Constitution class starship imitating the USS Enterprise from the 23rd century. We started helping the crew to repair some damaged systems that threatened the ability to support life on the ship and could end up with the ship itself. During out work, tools started to dissapear and we found some strange readings on the ship's systems as well as some weird behavior from the fake crew. After checking with the captain about the suspicions, she allowed a modification to a helmet I was wearing to perform scans appropiate with our level of technology, what lead me to confirm that the ship was fake, built just months ago, and with the rest of the crew finding out other pieces of information we uncovered the truth. They're Iotians and they're impersonating historical starfleet officers inclding Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Sulu, Uhura, Chekov, and Scotty among others. Another faction stormed the ship willing to take those back to their previous life, but the captain managed to settle things between the factions. I must point out that Ensign Stapledon managed to not only make repairs to a ship from wich we had little knowledge, but in facing those... mobsters, as I've heard them referred to, when we had to take control of the situation. Even being a fake Enterprise and a fake crew, this has proven to be an interesting experience from wich I've learned more about the history of Federation technology, first hand experience with duotronic circuits and even had a chance to check on the pressure variances on IRC tank storages of a ship of that time, or at least close to what would have been in a real one. Anyway, Stapledon managed to download their computer files and we've them on secure storage for Starfleet's officials review for their trial. End log =/\=
