COUNSELORS' NOTES

238709.15

  • Counselor: R. Dakota, Psy.D, LMHC
  • Psychological Assessment: Cadet Rennyn experiences stress related to the death of several friends in the Dominion War. In addition to the loss, there is also guilt associated with his perceived failure to join the Trill Defense League with his friends. Rennyn expresses general optimism, but lingers occasionally on this guilt. A more recent source of guilt is the perceived hardship on his family caused by his departure for the Academy. Rennyn is confident in his life choice, but concerned for the way it will affect his family relationships.

A deeper stress stems from the loss of a loved one to the Borg. Rennyn has been unable to mourn the death, believing this person to be a Borg drone. Rennyn confessed to nightmares and waking fantasies involving this drone, and that he has not discussed this with anyone in the 10 years since the loss occurred. I have recommended continued counseling on the subject.
