Lieutenant JG Madison Marsh is a 25th century female Centauran Starfleet Officer. She currently serves as the Assistant Chief Medical Officer of Starbase 118 Ops and the USS Narendra.
Background
Early Life
Madison Nova Marsh was born to Ora'ssam Sareu and Iris Marsh in 2374 in Tarola'n, the capital city of Alpha Centauri IV or as the Centaurans refer to their homeworld as Velestus. Her parents were brought together to fulfill a Centauran breeding plan that helped ensure that their population was diversified, which was common practice within Centauran culture. Her mother Iris was an associate professor at the UNLV and naturally resided in Las Vegas, Nevada, Earth. She named her daughter 'Madison' after a human mentor of hers from the distant past. Her father was an artist that designed holodecks on Alpha Centauri and traveled the stars more often than not. Madison spent the first five years of her life being raised in a crèche on Velestus which was a common practice for Centauran children. Her father was not interested in raising her, but her mother was and decided to bring Madison to Earth with her to raise her there.
While in secondary school, Madison was on the Nevada State High School Women’s swimming team and lettered for all four years. She set individual school records in both Freestyle and Butterfly strokes. As a Junior she was named the captain of her team and together they won the state championship during her Junior and Senior years. All of her medals are stored in her Mother's home on Earth. After graduation, she opted to join Starfleet Academy in 2392 due to her desire to travel the stars which likely was inherited from her father. For extracurricular activities, she continued her athletic lifestyle and fulfilled her passion for sports competition as a member of the Decathlon and Swimming teams respectively. While at the Academy, she double majored in Science and Counseling. For her Science degree she specialized in Exobiology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, and Genetics. Madison chose Counseling as her second major because she has the desire to help others with the issues they face and to utilize what she considers a special gift. A small percentage of Centaurans were capable of utilizing telepathic and empathic abilities. Although she does not openly reveal to others that she is an empath with limited telepathic ability, she did test for it. She is considered an Empath level 3 meaning that she can sense the emotions of a being with a two-lobed brain through making physical contact. Her level 1 telepathic ability is limited to communication through making physical contact with other Centaurans. She utilizes her gift of empathy when assisting her patients with medicine or counseling to ensure that they feel understood and supported. After graduating Starfleet Academy in 2397, she was accepted by the Starfleet Medical Academy. She is still ultimately deciding on what her field of study will be, but that will come through experience as a Medical Doctor in Starfleet. She graduated from Starfleet Medical Academy in the year 2400 and was assigned as a medical officer to Starbase 118 Operations and the USS Narendra.
Physical Description
Madison has blonde hair that flows just past her shoulders. She keeps her hair in a bun style when on duty and when exercising, otherwise she leaves it down. Her eyes are sky blue in color and her skin is fair with a slight tan. She is 1.62 meters tall with an athletic body type that is fully toned from maintaining consistent weight training. Her facial structure is symmetrical and has a diamond shape.

Her happiness lies in the joy of achievement and winning together in a team-based environment. Madison loves any challenge no matter the size and believes that she will successfully complete it. She thinks strategically and helps lead those around her to deliver successful results. She is extremely competitive, detests losing when in competition, and has the mindset of a champion. Those that she respects will not hesitate to stand up to her intellectually and portrays qualities equal to her own. She has the skill of recognizing the talents of others and utilizing them effectively in team building exercises. She does not hesitate to call out failures in others having the understanding that she ultimately depends on having a high functioning team that is successful in accomplishing assignments. She is an extroverted woman who enjoys spending time with and meeting others from all walks of life.

Madison and Aine were cadets at Starfleet Academy together. The met at the fitness center and became workout partners for three years. While Madison was at Starfleet Medical School, Aine graduated and was assigned to the USS Resolution until eventually joining the senior staff at Starbase 118 Ops. Aine was quite busy on missions and progressing in her career while Madison was busy in medical school. The two did keep in touch, but on a limited basis for the past three years. During their time together on Starbase 118 Ops they grew their friendship further and were fitness partners. Keeping in shape can be tough, but Aine drove Madison to continue pressing onward without throwing in the towel. Aine was eventually transferred to the USS Oumuamua, but remains in contact with Madison. |

Madison met Commander Alora DeVeau when she was assigned to Starbase 118 Operations and the USS Narendra. Alora was the first member of the crew that Madison interacted with on the academy green at Starbase 118. Alora provided her with the gift of a lovely plant, productive conversation, and offered Madison support in her career going forward. The two of them meshed well together and became friends in little time. Unfortunately, their time working together was cut short when Alora was transferred to Denali Station abruptly. However, they still remain in consistent communication through subspace and do not allow distance to dissolve their friendship. Madison considers Alora to be a highly regarded role model of hers and she has an appreciation for Alora's guidance throughout her career. |

As cadets, Madison and Gila took several science courses together during their time at Starfleet Academy. Their relationship evolved throughout their time at Starfleet Medical Academy and they formed a close friendship. These days they often communicate on subspace considering Madison was assigned to Starbase 118 Operations and the USS Narendra while Gila joined the crew of the USS Artemis. They still talk, provide feedback, and offer constructive criticism on their latest research projects. |
