Max was a curious child. Always getting into trouble when he touched hot things, cold things, sharp things, you get the drill. He used to end up hurting himself regularly just because he wanted to understand how the world worked.

As he grew up on Trill, he was obsessed with Symbionts and dreamed of being chosen as a host, as so many young Trill did. He had been training hard and making sure the Symbiosis Council knew of his desires and dedication but so far nobody had called him up for a joining.

To show his commitment to success, Max signed up for Starfleet Academy, focusing on Medical and Counselling. He was keen to help people, to mend people, to aid people. Starfleet seemed the perfect opportunity to do so.

He got good grades in the academy and went on to study jointly medical and counselling upon graduating his four year stint at the academy.

Now, he faced the ultimate test. His final cadet assessment onboard the training vessel, to see if he could get a place onboard one of the federation’s starships or stations.

At the Academy, Maximilian studies Psychology and Counselling from the get go and enjoyed every aspect of his work. As an avid follower and fan boy of Professor/Doctor Timothy Holm, Max was keen to learn under him and enjoy his tutelage.

His courses included:

To major in Counseling, a cadet must have the following 22 credits:

- Administration: Starfleet

- Administration: Starfleet Bases and Outposts

- Diplomacy: Hostile Species

- Diplomacy: Non-Traditional Situations

- Engineering: Medical Systems and Equipment

- Language: Major Species

Those were his core courses but he majored in Psychology, taking many courses on the minds of humans and others.

When he reached his final years, he studied the following:

- Xenobiology: Neuroscience

- Xenobiology: General Physiology

- Xenobiology: Physiology, Major Species

- Xenobiology: Physiology, Minor Species

- Xenology: Major Species

- Xenology: Minor Species

During his time at the academy, Max kept himself to himself most of the time, often eschewing invites to social events, deeming them a distraction from his studies. He was so determined to prove himself to the Symbiosis Commission that he wanted to focus. In his later years this is something he regretted. He'd missed out on friendships, parties, social events and even romance.

When he got the call to finish his final year onboard a starship rather than at the academy, Maximilian was thrilled. He was to be sent to the USS Gorkon, a massive ship doing great work throughout the galaxy. Upon arriving onboard, the ship was on shore leave on Andoria and he took the time to get to know a few of his new crew and take time to sample local hospitalit.y

It wasn't long though, before duty called and he was on his first mission. He, Doz Finch and Samira Neathler, with the later addition of Valesha Sienelis, were tasked with finding the Captain, a Vulcan woman who was missing on Depot 39, a Starfleet facility. The Commodore had stolen something and caused quite a coup and was missing in action, but their team were sent to find T'Veran, the Captain.

Max had maybe been a little too confident in his abilities, trying to prove himself and in multiple occasions got himself into a little trouble, but the crew made it through, finding the Captain and bringing her back to the Gorkon for urgent medical attention.
