Airseé Lily Ventu is an ambassador-at-large for the United Federation of Planets, after having served as a counselor and a diplomatic officer in the Federation's Starfleet in the 2380s. Ambassador Ventu is responsible for the Federation installation Starbase 118 and its surrounding sectors, Trinity, Serellan, and Jenatris Cloud; she maintains diplomatic facilities aboard the starbase as well as a permanent residence for her family.

History
Lily spent several years in the Federation's Starfleet, having applied to the Academy as an eighteen-year-old. She received her commission and her post as a counselor four years later and was promoted through the rank of lieutenant commander aboard the exploratory vessel USS Victory. After a brief stint as a temporary command officer aboard the escort vessel Triumphant, Lily accepted a posting as a diplomatic officer aboard Starbase 118, eventually attaining the rank of commander. However, after a difficult situation aboard the colony of Beta Pictoris IV, Lily was forced to resign her commission and negotiate the situation as a noncommissioned diplomat; and though Starfleet offered to reverse her resignation officially, she declined after an offer from the Federation Diplomatic Corps to serve as an ambassador, and later as an ambassador-at-large.
Lily met Hayden Reynolds during her time in Starfleet, when he served as a mobile researcher, and while it appeared that their relationship would not survive her high-risk placement on the Triumphant, they connected again aboard Starbase 118 and eventually held a commitment ceremony in 2383, several months before the birth of their son, Rhys.
