Backstory/Timeline

Khyris was born into a noble family on Betazed and was found to have his telepathic abilities from Birth. This proved very traumatic for both Khyris and his family as they attempted to come to terms with a new child in the household, and one who did not truly understand the nature of his abilities. Khyris was lucky his family were wealthy or he may have suffered lasting effects during his early childhood. As most Betazoids do not start to develop telepathic abilities until just after puberty, Khyris had to attend special schooling set up by his parents. This left him without many friends and he grew up lonely, turning more often than not to his older sister, Kiana who helped him through most of the rough times ,when she was not away serving Starfleet on diplomatic missions. Khyris excelled in most things due to his telepathic abilities. He found he could see exactly what his teachers were telling him and this helped him immensely. In 2367, Khyris world nearly fell apart when his mother told him his sister had been killed aboard the starship USS Gemini , after an attack by the Borg at Wolf 359. This really hurt the young Khyris and he made it his duty to join Starfleet as Security , so as to defend not only his family, but also the people of the federation against any threat to it's existence , as his sister had been a firm believer in the policies of the federation and had instilled that in her younger brother.

After his sisters death in 2367 when Khyris was only 12 standard years old , he began to take an interest in the physical aspects of learning, and by his 14th year excelled in the use of the "akai" a form of Betazoid Martial arts. He was very fit and using his strong telepathic abilities found learning to be both enjoyable and rewarding. He sailed through his exams at Starfleet and was a member of red squad, graduating in the top 1% in his last year and decided to move straight in to tactical and security, operating on the Bridge. Due to his impressive academy record , Khyris had been given the choice of several assignments , and decided to go for a deep space vessel, thinking this would be the front line and would be the best place to defend the federation - on the front line.

Khyris took place in the final weeks of the Dominion war, and won a promotion for his efforts during this time. The times after the wars were a little less exciting for Khyris , still looking at protecting the Federation and all of it's citizens from harm. He found himself on Diplomatic missions and missions for Scientific purposes and on several occasions found himself being reprimanded for disobeying orders, nothing serious, but while serving aboard The USS Williamson the ship had been attacked by an unknown foe , the captain had ordered the ship be abandoned and while himself and other bridge crew were leaving Khyris had heard the moans of more crew somewhere close by as he was climbing into the last escape pod. Khyris , against the direct orders of his Captain, remained behind and looked for the remaining crewmembers, finding two of them he made his way to a shuttlecraft and just before the USS Williamson was destroyed, himself, the other two crewmembers and the shuttlecraft escaped the ship .To some Khyris was labelled a hero , however he still broke the direct orders of his Captain and was thus demoted to the rank of Ensign. Khyris was also transferred at this point to another ship the USS Ronin.

While upon the USS RONIN Khyris Struck up a Friendship with Lt jg Kizri Although she was Quiet and shy, Khyris felt attracted to her although he was already Bonded to another. During an Attack on the Ronin by Forces from another Dimension Khyris and Kizri where taken hostage,During this time Khyris went through severe Mental and Physical Torture which pushed him to the edge by Someone Called AEV this person (Now Dead) Killed by Commander Mike James during this same mission left a mental trauma on Khyris Such that he began to see AEV on parts of the Ship he was on.

This was obviously having an impact on his Duties and he requested leave to return to Betazed to receive the necessary treatment to cure this, during the 8 months of This Khyris did little but spend time with his family Khyris was recently given a clean bill of health and has requested an assignment.
