Backstory/Timeline
John was born in 2363, to James and Carol Williams. His father, being a marine, was not home a lot. Thankfully, his mother was almost allways home. His childhood was fairly uneventful, growing up on the European continent, in the Netherlands.
At the age of eighteen, John applied to join the marine corps, like his father. In 2383, when John was twenty years old, the conflict with the Gorn hegemony began. John saw extensive action during this conflict. His unit was deployed extensively during this period. In 2387, his unit was again deployed, this time to combat the Vaadwaur threat on and near deep space seventeen.
Growing tired of constant deployment, John accepted a training and teaching position with the marine corps, before joining starfleet academy in 2391. During his time in starfleet academy, he showed a natural aptitude for security, so he chose to follow that path.
His father strongly disagreed with John leaving the marine corps for a career in starfleet, feeling it was a sign of weakness, on Johns' part. Because of this, they have become estranged, and have not spoken since John joined starfleet academy.
Because of his marine and security training, John is well versed in the use of a wide array of weapons, both modern and old. He is also trained in hand to hand combat and krav maga.
