Personal History

Barnes was born in the terrain embassy on Qo'n'os, where his father was a consular offical, which Barnes later learnt was another name for a spy. Despite or due to his privileged upbringing Barnes was a bit of rebel, getting into fights and brawls with Klingon youths and men twice his age. Barnes is a quite man with an easy temper, slow to rouse. Will defend his friends with his own life if needed.

After the death of his parents in a stupid hunting accident Barnes retired from the fleet to sort the family affairs out. The process ageing him by 'years' due to the bureaucracy of the Klingon High council where his father had served with the human console. During the process Barnes found his ftahers real occupation, one that had him working closly with both the Klingon military and the high council.

Durng his time on the Challenger, Barnes married a crew member Ashley Boles in a simple ceremony, conducted by the then ships captian - Capt. Tpen. After his transfer off the Challenger Barnes learnt of his wifes disappearance, Ashley being an accomplaished pilot was on a supply mission when her shuttle disapeared, no wreckage was ever found. She was declared MIA (Presummed dead)

Barnes was injured, three weeks after the crash of the Avandar. During the attack an arrow entered theough the upper left hand side rear of his back and enered his upper lung and right Ventricle. After extensive surgery he made a full recovery. Although his right shoulder acts up in the extreme cold.
