Backstory

Rhys was born in the family of Newcastle dockers. Even in the 24th century the Newcastle port remained mostly the old thing and he would certainly take on family heirloom if not for his older brother. William's eagerness to go in father's steps allowed Rhys to pursue his own interests. They led him to medicine and Starfleet Medical. He got past the exams owing to his own hard work.

Rhys' been always quiet and closed up, not the entertaining kind of fellow. Big crowds overwhelm him. He's only good as a simple doctor and serving aboard a starship, though good challenge, leaves him sometimes undermined. Despite going far from his ancestry, he has traces of mentality that of a simple Newcastle docker. Never the sort to jump, with no intention of taking command responsibility, he'll be always best set as a junior physician.
