In the first few years after the carnage, she did search for her relatives but she never found anything.

Personal History

Born during the Cardassian Union’s border war with the United Federation of Planets, Gilora Jemet grew up under the oppressive rule of the Central Command and the ever watchful and intrusive eyes of the Obsidian Order. Her father, Entar Jemet, was a filing clerk for Gul Marane and later served on Empok Nor, where he was killed by a Bajoran resistance attack. Her mother, Gevila Jemet, was a member of the progressive Cardassian dissident movement and successfully managed to keep it a secret until the collapse of the Obsidian and the uprising that overthrew Central Command. When Cardassia joined the Dominion- her mother went into hiding, opposing the alliance. At the outset of the Dominion War, the then Glinn Jemet served under Gul Ocett of the Cardassian Fourteenth Order. Seeing how her fellow Cardassians were slowly being subjugated under the rule of the Founders, Gilora resigned her commission in 2375 and joined Damar’s rebellion. She was brutally assaulted during the Jem’Hadar’s rampage across Cardassia Prime and was saved from death by a Starfleet away team who evacuated her. She recouperated aboard the U.S.S. Hornet and was resettled on Tilanna V- a neutral world on the border of the Federation-Klingon border, along with half a million other Cardassians who survived the fire. Once she had completely recovered from her injuries she joined the Anjunaar City Police Department, slowly working her way up through the ranks. She is known for her dedication duty and morally astute character and is believed to have turned numerous bribes and kick backs that could have otherwise interfered with her investigations. She has survived numerous attempts on her life and is politically connected, sharing a pleasant working relationship with Tilanna V’s governor, Al’Akir.

Personality

Over a decade working in the corrupt police force on Tilanna V has left Gilora world weary and tired. Regardless, she strives to maintain an air of professionalism in her working life and carries herself as an example of integrity and moral accountability. Her personal life is practically non existant aside for the rare date or trip to a local bar for a whiskey.

All Time High

On Stardate 239301.22 Gilora was called to a murder scene where she discovered the victim, Boris Malinov- a tribble breeder wanted by Starbase 118 Security for the poisonings of several people- impaled on a steel pole and pinned to a wall. When it was revealed that he was carrying a hypospray containing a powerful narcotic called All Time High, she expressed disgust and, after speaking to Governor Al’Akir, agreed to allow Starfleet to help her investigation. Later that night, she expressed concern at Starfleet assigning a 'military force', wondering whether Al'Akir was about to use them to declare martial law. l Dome, violating an agreement that she had with Oma-Saan.
