David Cody

David Cody currently serves aboard the USS Independence-A as its Chief of Security and Second Officer, once a former civilian trade securities investigator during his youth. A former bondsman for the Ferengi, David spent a chunk of his youth as a trader aboard the Skiptrace before landing himself in a bad deal gone wrong and served with the Ferengi for a couple years until finally returning to Mars in 2380. Following a short inquest into the nature behind his parents’ death, the Starfleet Chief Medical Examiner suggested David might think about joining Starfleet. He went in under an accelerated three year program focusing on tactical security before he was dispatched to the USS Independence, under the command of RAdm. Jessa Anassasi and since has had the pleasure of serving with several members of the Fleet and continues to serve aboard the Independence exploring the Ithassa Region. Ambitions and Goals
Originally, Dave had set out to become a trade securities investigator, which he had spent a number of years doing before coming to Starfleet. Once in the Fleet, he concentrated primarily on his job while finding out his personal goals opening up needed to be addressed. Over the course of the two to three years Dave has served with the Fleet, his goals have been met in some areas, have still a ways to go in others. But his ultimate goal is to earn the right to command his own ship at some point.
Personal Achievements and Disappointments
The greatest personal achievement Dave ever made was reconsiling his inner struggles with emotional ties and being open. However, he's still failed to find a solution to cure his insomnia (see Medical History)

David's family consists of an Aunt and Uncle still living on Earth and running the family business, along with a pseudo-adopted sister, Deboarh Turow, who runs the family business back on Mars.
