Personal History

  • PERSONALITY

  • A confident young man, stubborn at times. Great sense of humor. (Sometimes offbeat) kind, charming, respectful, very loyal and always ready for a fight. Trained in the art of boxing by his father. Hawk became an excellent fighter, winning Gold Gloves four years in a row at the Academy. A good engineer, a great pilot, and a crack shot with a phaser, Hawk was a stand-out at the Academy and was even considered for Red Squad. Instead, Hawk joined NOVA Squadron and shortly after, was placed as its flight leader.
  • Hawk grew up with a responsibility complex. With his fater being away on frieghter runs, he was left to be the man of the house. Being the eldest of five, he helped his mother raise his siblings and always felt it was his place to be there for them anytime, anywhere. He feels responsible for everyone and everything around him. He believes this comes from being the eldest sibling in a larger family, as well as being captain of both the Football and Rugby teams. He takes things to heart and knows that in order to become a leader, one must lead by example. Hawk firmly believes that respect is earned, not given.
  • While on leave from the Academy in Exeter, England, Hawk met his future wife. Kym was an art teacher schooling students at Exeter University. They met one evening and fell instantly in love. After Hawk's graduation the two were wed. Kym stayed a short time at Hawk's first deployment to the Embassy on Duronis II, but returned to Earth after a year to continue her teaching.

Professional History

  • Before entering the Academy, Hawk worked with his father in the family freighter repair business. Hawk Sr. is an excellent engineer and knows his business in and out. Hawk learned alot from his father, but always dreamed of Starfleet. Hawk used to joyride around in his father's antique shuttlecraft. An old mark 2 that the Hawks had modified. This enabled Hawk to hone his piloting skills at a young age. When Hawk finally joined Starfleet, no one was more supportive than his dad.

  • While at the Academy, Hawk had troubles with the Scientific and cultural courses, but excelled in the Tactical / Engineering aspects and was a natural pilot. In fact, after just missing acceptance into RED SQUAD in his second year of the academy, Hawk joined NOVA SQUADRON. He flew in numerous acrobatic and combat simulations and was even on the squad that won the Rigel Cup. Hawk had hopes of one day becomeing a federation fighter pilot. Hawk also participated and excelled in the Academy's hand to hand/ close quarters combat training. Hawk's father, having been a champion boxer, trained Hawk in the old art. Hawk was gold gloves four years in a row at the academy. Hawk finished third in his class.

  • During the Dominion War, NOVA Squadron was pressed into service. Due to the lack of experienced fighter pilots, Starfleet activated NOVA Squadron as a front line group. Hawk flew with Gold Squad, as second wingman. Participating in both offensive and defensive sorties against Dominion forces, Hawk and the rest of NOVA Squadron recorded the best loss ratio in Starfleet history. Destroying enemy ships at a 15 to one ratio. Hawk recieved the Starfleet distinguished flying cross for his distinguished service, becoming the first cadet pilot in Starfleet history to recieve such an award.
