Alleran Tan never wanted to be joined, but circumstances never playout the way you wanted to. He lead a normal, happy but unremarkablelife as a commercial shuttle pilot until about the age of 23, when anion storm caused his shuttle to crash on an abandoned moon. One of hispassengers was the renouned trill scientist Marlee Tan, anexobiologist who specialized in the Borg, who was mortally wounded. The rescue party couldn't save her and her post extraction symbiotewas also extremely weak. To preserve it, Alleran grudgingy agreed tobecome Alleran Tan.Filled with an arrogant confidence  bordering on the near dangerous,Alleran very quickly became disinterested in such a mundane job as commercial piloting. He soon enrolled in Starfleet as a marine pilotflying space-supremacy fighters,

He died aboard the Galaxy-class ship after experiencing a profound drop in isoboramine. The Tan symbiont was later implanted unsuccessfully into Safine Tan, and then later into Serren Tan.
