Ensign Sopek is a socially awkward Vulcan helmsman serving on the USS Discovery-C, he prefers to take the night shift so he can avoid speaking to a bridge full of people.
When Captain Waltas and Jorus Cogud among others where captured by the smuggler Rambling Rose, Sopek was on duty at the helm, having to face an the responsibility of a full time helm officer.
